Topic: Forum Flaw: Mark all as read

Not specifically a bug but idk where to post.

The old forum had an option to mark all topics as read. This was useful to preventreading useless stuff and to get rid of mew tags. Sadly to remove new tags I must now read every new post. Ewwww.

the option is still there on the bottom blue bar in the forum category view

i'm moving this to the feedback forum.  flint, when you get a chance can you confirm that you see this option?  it's also possible that there is a bug that is causing this to be hidden from you

You can't do it on the forum index, only the sub forums. However you can click "New posts" at the top and then scroll down and mark all read.

Oki, i dont see it on the main forum index, i get it in subforums, if i click "new posts" in the top right hand corner, i then have the mark all as read in the bottom right corner smile

alsooooo, ive logged on today and loads of threads have now got the new post bit next to them, even posts that dont have new posts

Yeah, you have to re-do the "mark as read" in one of the subforums and then it'll mark them all as read again.

Hmm, seems above marks all threads as read, even ones in other subfora.

it happened last night (my time) about 5 to 11..? somewhere around there... I logged in and after maybe 2 minutes it "kicked" me out and I had to sign back in, I looked in Forums and a lot of them had the Blue box again.. maybe going back a day of threads? I had to "mark as read" a lot of them again hmm

It's a 1 time thing, and not quite a bug.

www.imperialconflict.com now redirects to imperialconflict.com.  This is to prevent browsers from seeing them as two separate websites, which was causing players to be confused and think they are getting logged out when following links within the forums that was the opposite of whatever version they were using.

Everything is now the no-www version, which means if you were previously using the www version that you started a "new" session after last night's change.

Sorry for the inconvenience!  This should be fixed permanently now.

Apparently this also affected those who are lazy, like me, and had their username and password stored in their browsers.

Ok so I have gotten used to the system. It should still be on top


3 things I noted

1) Ignored posts NEVER get unmarked

2) You can mark as read all posts in a topic, such as Universal News by entering universal news and scrolling all the way to the bottom, and clicking the link on the bottom right.

3) If you click 'New Posts' in upper right of all forum screens it makes a list of ALL posts that are fairly new (even if you have read them) and those which are unread at all. Clicking 'mark all as read' while on this screen removes all threads from the indicator of 'not read'
