Topic: Introduction to Imperial Conflict

Curious as to how you guys originally heard about IC.

I Googled Free MMORPG's about eight years ago and started my first IC account. Long since forgotten because i dont even remember the username. lol. Stopped playing a few years ago and then picked it back up four PW rounds ago.

What about you guys?

Re: Introduction to Imperial Conflict

Lot if friends in high school were playing. Joined up then. Around fall 2002. Didn't really care how well we did vs everybody else, was more of a competition to see which of us could get on the top 100 player ranks lol. Back when that was a real accomplishment. wink

I have played off and on, many times since then. This is my longest stretch, going about 3 1/2 years solid now.

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

Re: Introduction to Imperial Conflict

Friend stumbled upon IC in computer class when I was in 6th grade, which was in 1999 or 2000 (aka too damn long ago).  Been playing on and off ever since.  Miss the days when I joined up....20 man fams in mw, tri alliances, and top 15 family actually meaning something.  No drafting...having to play 2-3 rounds with a group before you got a group together that was cohesive enough to compete...ahhhh.

Re: Introduction to Imperial Conflict

I first found IC on mmorpg and started playing when I spent a year in the US in 2003. Been playing on and of since then. Recently came back when the mail about the hacking was sent.

And I was happy to see that this game still exists.

Re: Introduction to Imperial Conflict

Wait... you mean the IC hacking INCREASED total IC membership?

Re: Introduction to Imperial Conflict

I dont know that it increased it. I think we may have lost a few players because of it but we also gained a few so it was prob a net tradeoff smile

<&InSaNe> so for reference tco has a ticklish bumhole
<@SerialBusiness> good to know. I will make a note of this

Re: Introduction to Imperial Conflict

Whatever the case, i will play till I die.

Anyone else?

That was when the new interface was introduced as I remember, so everyone who was around before then had the same... That was the chaos round, which I took the oppotunity to get rid of my multi-accounts and borrowed logins and setup my own, got to 50 planets in Virgo, largest planet size, and gave my 'leader' / banker 100 which he lost when the game was sorted out... good times.... Got to attack with the leaders market stash with billions of figs and droids against other leaders who were doing the same with their stash.... I think that was when leaders stopped having planets and stuff in Virgo as well (after the chaos round)

The good ole days. Going from 90th to 15th in three rounds. My story is similar to nicks but mine was in 9th grade at the same time.

Re: Introduction to Imperial Conflict

Undeath's comment is win.

Anywho, for me it started when I had a shitty computer and dial up. I played a game called Star Kingdoms?...hell, idk lol But I know it was a crappy online game that made little sense in its game play and the community sucked. From there I think I found IC through the mmorpg list. Back then IC was usually at the top. This was in like..2001. I joined Beta 4 in andromeda towards the end. And the rest was history.

Had some really wonderful times then. I know people look at this as just an online game. But I've met some really cool people here and have been friends with some for years now lol The community just isn't the same anymore though.

Re: Introduction to Imperial Conflict

a friend of mine i used to play MUD games with told me about this game and 'convinced' me to sign up and play back in the dial up days. been playing on and off since then.

more off than on..heh

Re: Introduction to Imperial Conflict

One of the members of my Quake III clan recommended IC to me...that must have been 2002 or so, i have been here ever since.

Re: Introduction to Imperial Conflict

A friend of mine played IC for quite some time and when we got a permanent broadband connection instead of an expensive and slow dial up, I joined. I can't pinpoint exactly when that was though.

Re: Introduction to Imperial Conflict

Like most people, found it through friends during high school. We used to make tonnes of accounts just so we could land in the same fam. Played Andro, Tri and Orion back in the day.

I think I stopped mid way through Orion 4 and returned in '07 or '08, been around the community since, though I don't think i've played a round since '10. tongue

Re: Introduction to Imperial Conflict

it was oktober 2004 when I was in my mum's offize helping out kleaning out their komps and arranging some problems they had with the program, and was trying to find out in internet a Pk version of an old strategy game kalled Lords of Kaos. I found it in some page and then followed some link that brought me to a Dragon's rpg game that was offered with Imperial Konflikt. The rpg was kreepy but IK looked nize, with a lot of players and aktive forums, so I signed up as Godwill of Render.  The MithLake akkount was kreated later when a mod bloked my former akkount for some trouble I had in uni news wiht napbreakers and suzh tongue
