Topic: Refresh/Reload

When i hit refresh when in forums it takes me back to HQ :S

Re: Refresh/Reload

this might just be the behavior of the frames setup.  does this also happen if you're on the market page, for example?

Re: Refresh/Reload

happens on every page i tried. market fleet etc

Re: Refresh/Reload

yup, really annoying! tongue

Re: Refresh/Reload

Didn't it always do this?

Watch out Banana, its pedo bear !!!!!! =O

Re: Refresh/Reload

it has always done this unless you open a page up in a new window (ctrl+click). as long as there is no sidebar on the page, it doesnt go back to HQ when you refresh. I think its because of the frames like Pie said smile

<@SerialBusiness> good to know. I will make a note of this

Re: Refresh/Reload

not it hasn't always done this...i have always refreshed pages with no problems at all.

Re: Refresh/Reload

It only did this before, Insane + Remo, if you hadn't selected (read, clicked into) the frame.  If you had nothing selected, then the frame would be the default, so at that point refreshing would take you back to HQ.

Now though, clicking anywhere means reload just puts it to HQ.

The real question is though ...why do you want to reload? tongue ...Just click the link again, easier! tongue

Re: Refresh/Reload

So this is new behavior then?  I wonder how long it's been that way, the new forum had nothing to do with any of the frames code.

Re: Refresh/Reload

If you click refresh whilst on http://imperialconflict.com/frames.php, it has always refreshed back to HQ page no matter which page you are browsing, or always has done so for me. If you refresh a tab of IC, only that page will refresh without taking you back to HQ ie you have council tab open & refresh it it just refreshes your council page.

Re: Refresh/Reload

would be www.

but still its never done it before and yes its allways been .frames.php

i dont know but i know before this update i could refresh any page i was on without having it in a new window/tab

Re: Refresh/Reload

If that is the case, the actual bug seems to be that this has worked for you but not for others.  That is, the forum upgrade didn't break anything it just exposed a pre-existing issue.

In any case, we have plans to change out of a frames-style navigation anyway so this problem will go away once that project is done.

In the meantime I can look into solutions around this.  I can't promise it will be fixed though, because we may just get rid of frames first.

Re: Refresh/Reload

im sure flash did say it affected him also

Re: Refresh/Reload

even if so, the fact that the behavior wasn't consistent before the upgrade means that this isn't a problem with anything upgrade-related.  the fact that things changed is just a symptom, the actual problem is elsewhere
