Re: improving leader message

I have a few ideas to make this more useful, but am interested if anybody has additional thoughts.

1) Somehow indicate "freshness".  Meaning, if you log in and you're seeing a leader message that was different than the last one you saw, highlight it or make it red or do something to indicate that it has changed.  I think many people unintentionally ignore it because that little blue box always looks the same.

2) Allow leaders to link to a specific thread in their family forum within the leader message itself.  No HTML code needed or anything, this would just be a dropdown in the leader options page.  Something like "Link to thread: [dropdown]".  This would be optional.

Anybody got anything else?

Re: improving leader message

Well maybe we can make a subcategory for each player. The leader can make specific plans for each player so when you click your names you can see your goals and when done so you can checkbox the specific goal.
Just a quick thought though havent really thought it over

Re: improving leader message

How about anytime the leader message is changed all players get a msg stating that. It will remind them to go read it.

As for the linking a specific thread, thats cool and all but im not sure the purpose?

Re: improving leader message

LEGEND that's an interesting idea.  Some kind of task list could be useful, though I can see that as a different feature.  I'll do some thinking about that one too.

God of Legends that is a good idea too.  As for the thread, often times in my leader message I like to say "Please see the _____ thread for further discussion." though I'm not sure if others do this.

Re: improving leader message

Yeah common issue/problem Pie. Leader messages refer to forum. Especially for phone users in kinda helpfull if you can be directed to the specific thread.

Re: improving leader message

I think it would be a good idea to move it to the top of the HQ page, above the player Affairs of state.

Re: improving leader message

Also, rather than a task list (as I feel forums are perfectly fine for that?)  Take Hydro's idea a different way, and rather than having a different message for each person, make that person click something to confirm that they've seen the updated message

with "you can checkbox the specific goal" you mean each player have his own boxes to click when the tasks are done, so the leader knows they've been done ??

This is a good idea indeed, but not sure if this will be good in the future bkause leaders may start treating the players like robots, and kommunikation will get lost.

Re: improving leader message

a good adition to this:

Just like I used HQ years ago, when people was aktive -> every message was preceded by the hour and date it was written, and the old messages were not replaced, so you kould see a small history of the round plans and progression wiht just rolling down  (then the spaze to write the leader msg was limited to some lines and I had to leave this system).

Re: improving leader message

but tbh... this should not be a prior projekt Pie

to add a small window chat in the corner of the screen, a chat to the family members online, like the one facebook has, THAT should be prior, then communication would be boosted and you wouldn't have to worry about HQ msg anymore.

this idea is somewhere posted in ideas forum, and not updated hmm

Re: improving leader message

this won't be top priority, but we're trying to organize lots of ideas and then prioritize them based on various factors in relation to eachother.  having smaller "not a priority" things to work on keeps things fresh for us so we don't get stuck on just the big projects.

anyway, your chat idea is actually in the works already btw, but that's a separate discussion.  regarding this one, i like the idea of leader msg history.  good call
