Besides obvious genetalia differences men and women are very different.

Physically:
Women tend to be shorter, thinner, have 1 spare rib, have different hips, and lack some of the upper body strength of men. Additionally hands, feet, shoulders all tend to be smaller then men.

Even at the Olympics there is a noticable difference. There are some co-ed sports but in general they use a man vs man and a woman versus woman format. Women typically show far less strength but can have a lot more flexibility and coordination.


Intellectually.
Intellectually we are different as well. Men tend to do better in math, physics, engineering and in military science.

Women tend to do well in education, languages, social studies and in culture issues.


Occupations
There are few men in the home keeper position but fewer women in the mechanic position. It is hard to be a male receptionist yet there is not many female truck drivers. Men generally seek out a certain spectrum of occupations and women generally seek out other positions.

Now there is some cross over but this is generally in positions women hold a majority in. Those positions, due to generally being easier and with higher competion, have lower pay.





Anyone who thinks sexual equality is achievable via forcing it is a fool. Each is different, each have their strengths and weaknesses. Acknowledge it!

This is an interesting argument, and one that could arguably be applied to race as well despite the taboo of suggesting that everybody isn't equal.

Equality and equal opportunity are not the same thing.  One is a false, feel-good and politically correct ideal that doesn't actually exist.  The other is an important freedom that needs to be established and preserved.  Unfortunately, people mix them up quite often.

Regarding men and women, you're right.  They aren't equal and they never will be.  It disgusts me that some women will scream about being seen differently than a man, yet have no problem getting free drinks at bars.

You can't have it both ways.

Yeah, race is another ball of wax but the root concept is equality imo.

In any case, about men and women specifically I don't really know where to begin.  I guess the first thing that comes to mind is the supposed double standard about guys being praised when they have lots of casual sex and women being condemned for it.

I used to think that was a double standard too, until I read somebody explain it pretty well:

In order for a man to pick up women and have sex with them, he has satisfy 1 or more of the following:

1) have a lot of money
2) be good looking
3) be charismatic
4) be powerful
5) be lucky

In order for a woman to pick up men and have sex with them, she has satisfy 1 or more of the following:

1) have a vagina

Well, that's about it really.  Not saying all guys have low standards, but anybody who doesn't realize or agree that most women could go to a bar or club and have a high likelihood of getting laid if they want hasn't been to very many bars or clubs.


So yeah, there's no double standard there.  Most guys have to either work at getting laid or have the right qualities so that they don't have to.  That's why they're praised when they pull lots of casual sex.  Women... have to accept free drinks.

Flint: Why am I not surprised that you have such sexist (and I know bigoted) thoughts? The sexes are equal, despite what you might think. Most of the supposed differences, especially in the intellectual coloumn you also brought up,  are mostly due to social conditioning, not differences in genetics, biology or physicology. The only real difference in the sexes are the obvious physical difference.

I think you all miss the point here. Isnt it good that the sexes are not equal or else we would all be homosexual and not capable of recreation tongue

Also I like Pie allready stated that there is a difference in being biologically equal (noone is btw) and equal opportunity. And that equal opportunity is not as important in sports as it is in the workplace for example.

But from your other posts I read I am not surprised you missed that difference wink

You_Fool, that's the thing though they are not equal.

It's interesting that you bring up social conditioning, because that's exactly what has caused people to cling so hard to equality where it doesn't exist.

It's a sensitive thing to talk about, because statements like "men and women are not equal" carry such heavy and negative connotations when in fact it is a simple, objective, and undeniable fact.

It may be obvious that "there are physical differences" but people seem hesitant to acknowledge what those differences mean.  I'm all for equal opportunity, but I won't ignore the reality that women menstruate, and as such are expected to endure routine hormonal fluctuations.  Just the same, men produce more testosterone which also has an impact on their long term body and brain chemistry.

These differences shouldn't prevent anybody from say, getting a job obviously.  But when discussing the natural potential of individuals, ignoring these truths is being ignorant in the most pure sense of the word.

The physiological differences also result in psychological differences and intellectual differences.



This has been proven in a large number of studies... yet continues to baffle leftists to this day.

Yes, "equal" is commonly misused and abused today. But let's not hold that against the word and articulately spoken English. Equal rights and value in no way whatsoever imply equal outcomes, or entitlement to any such nonsense.
