There is 320 million people in the United States yet Obama says Hagel is the best choice. It is expected he will get elected on a pure party line vote since Republicans, even those who normally rubber stamp nominees, all say Hagel is clearly unqualified.

Go watch his testimoney. No candidate for nomination to a Secretary level position has been less qualified (differences in political views are one thing, qualifications another).

This is Obama playing promote the insiders game. This is not a shining moment in history. Peewee Herman could have testified far better than Hagel.

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!

I liked the bit where he said that the position of Secretary of Defense is not a policymaking position.

He should have copied Hillary, thrown a tantrum and asked what difference it makes.

I am not sure how this hurts the dems legacy.  If anything this just supports they are in power and not going anywhere.  They are placing a boob into this position and there isn't anyting anyone can or will do about it.  If they guy fails miserably, no one will care or even notice.  The Yell touched on this.  Hillary throws a fit about it not mattering if the attacks were a random act of violence or a planned out terrorist attack - and Hillary gets commended for her stupidity.  Can you imagine if when the Twin towers got hit if for two weeks the Bush administration came out and said it was just a plane accident and then when it would be discovered that it was a terrorist attack they just said "What does it matter?"

well John McCain said filibustering his nomination is "inappropriate" and he will vote with Dems to end such a filibuster, which means his grouching at Hagel was just for the cameras

I have come to the conclusion that Republicans are every bit as weasily as the Democrats.  The Democrats might just be more upfront about it.

If we had 1000 John McCains I think the end result would be the same.  I don't think the answer is "We need more Republicains" as much as it is "We need less morons".
