Re: Zoom problem

I'd quote myself but its better to have each bug in separated threads.

The zoom using mousewheel is terrible, you get completely lost from where you were because its too slow (the response after you move the wheel). And there's no focus, and this is a major problem, because it affects to coords aswell.

clicking the 'zoom in' and 'zoom out' options works better, but still you lose the focus.

I'd get rid of the mousewheel function because you'd need much more resolution if you want to make it work like a real zooming.
Right now there's only 7 sizes of the map, you'd need at least 7*7=49 sizes of the map to make it look as a real zooming, and use the 'zoom in' and 'zoom out' options to change between the 7 standard sizes.

But still the focus is the big problem, in the lower resolution you see as the map goes up when it should be centered.

To make a pro zooming you'd need more sizes, more response speed and also to be centered in your window, just like a cartoon, right now the poor cartoon is slow and moving up hmm

or even better, the focus should be where your mouse pointer is, but I guess I'm asking for too much tongue

Re: Zoom problem

Also on the old map, I used the mouse wheel to go up and down up the map, so with the new map I end up zooming way in or way out and my browser freezes :X

Obsessed is a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated.

Re: Zoom problem

I swear thats the damn background what's causing the lag when zooming, we should get rid of the background and make 'simple mode' as default.  There's no background in the mapgen and the zooming is great (appart from it's an independent program)

and yes, all function in this game of the mousewheel have been always to move up & down, thru the map, thru the tezt, thru the window...  now they want to make it zoom, but I guess that'd be a nightmare to make it work like a real zooming hmm
