Yes, because the DS won't kill anything vs 2 soldiers.

How does it kill said third soldier when it cannot kill the 1 transport the soldier is traveling in?

you dont lose any unit even if you send 2 transports and 200 soldiers

defencestation doesnt work on ground units

That is correct actually, if you send 3 tranports you will lose 1 one of them and the corresponding number of ground units that were inside. So if you send 300 soldiers in 3 transports you will lose 1 transport and 100 soldiers.

ya defence stations work on flying units smile figs/bombs/transports - only kills troops if you dont have enough to cover what you got.
