Topic: RPG - TG IX - Discussion, Please Read

If anyone is interested, I'd like to start an RPG using actual stats and a predefined set of races, monsters, maps, and items.

This would be the ninth installment I've created of the game (aptly titled, "The Game").

This game originated with a paper game much like Dungeons and Dragons, however we had never played D&D, and were too poor to try even if we knew what it was.

Three games later, The Game had too many players to carry on the way we were. We started the council of The Game to run different groups of players, each with a "Game Master" presiding over them to enhance stats, and insure fairness to all. The Game Masters of this round soon became the Game Elders, and new game masters were brought into the group.

The Game V was a trading Card Game, also known as The Dragon Saga V. It was the first time that it was referenced in this way, and sort of stuck. So if anyone cares, it may also be called The Dragon Saga IX. The card game was created on index cards, and ran simultaneously with The Game IV "Draconum's Rage". There were several crossovers between the two.

The Game VII was forum based, and did surprisingly well, lasting three years without my moderation, and two while I was still actively participating. This game was simple, and only had five moderators. Its eventually downfall was a vast number of players constantly writing new scripts without a dedicated number of moderators to follow up on their quests and award them experience for their time spent online.

For this reason I would prefer that I have a few friends help moderate this round. My preferred list is as follows:
Aracolax
SirSupAll
Eltara
Borg2
RedFokker
and maybe Nolio if he ever gets on anymore.

They seem to be well versed in RPing, and spend enough time online to actually read some of the posts. However, anyone is able to apply, and I'd appreciate the help. Anyone I've forgotten in this list, you probably know who you are, as you probably spend a vast amount of time in RP.

The Game will have one main thread wherein players can plan quests together, this area will be known as "The Town Square". Quests may consist of as many players as they want, however the more players per quest, the less experience is handed off to each player. Preferably, a moderator will claim specific threads and monitor them solely. This will help the workload.

I have already designed a Visual Basic program capable of handling all player information, and inform players of their levels, stats, magic, summons, etc. Presuming anyone wants to use it, I will post it to my website or download.com upon request.

Players are permitted to create magic, items, and weaponry, however will be given a certain number of points to spend on said category. Usually the points accumulate by leveling up, and are referred to as CP (Creation Points). When new items are created, they are added to the VB Program, and are then purchasable at defined locations (these locations are decided by the presiding moderator).

Any suggestions are welcome, and hopefully this will satisfy Fokker's want for more action in RP. I hope you all are willing to play, as the game is a ton of fun, and is freely expanded and controlled by the players. smile

Oh, and if anyone would like, I will convert the program to Microsoft Excel. Shouldn't take too long, and you can trust it better in my opinion. smile

I'd love to help, but cannot promise stable activity...

I'll never know if it was worth the pain, but I still loved it more than anything in the world - it was my life.

Replace the o and a in my name tongue. But i'm in.

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...
