Re: Introducing party game: The Resistance

Your beloved motherland is no longer the Utopia it used to be. A cruel army general seized power and abolished all political parties and opposition. His army holds the country in a firm grip of terror. In an attempt to fight the new establishment you join The Resistance. In small action groups you will try to sabotage the corrupt government and bring down the dictator. However, undercover government spies have infiltrated your group. It is up to you to select the right crew for the right operation.

"The huge plus this game has over games such as mafia, is that no one dies mid-game, everyone gets to play till the end."

+1!

Re: Introducing party game: The Resistance

An example game set up, (which we will try first), will be

Total Players = 9

The Resistance (Good guys!) = 6
The Spies (Evil guys!) = 3

2:1 is seriously waiting towards spies because any random distribution of 3 members will have one spy

yes I typed waiting instead of weighted

Re: Introducing party game: The Resistance

Correct.

Except, it's not random - people will need to try and figure out the combinations of people voting against a mission.

Edit:  In hindsight, this could not be good.  Given town are reluctant to figure things out on their own and usually rely on the cop hmm X(

Re: Introducing party game: The Resistance

We'll get running with mafia as soon as Arby gets around to set galaxy going and everyone is able to check in.  Sounds like a great concept we have going here smile

Re: Introducing party game: The Resistance

Also, making the town/good guys think on their own isn't a bad thing.  Running a rotation of the 2 games might even encourage more interesting mafia games, once people get used to thinking.

Yep, that's the intention!

I was just pointing it out tongue

Re: Introducing party game: The Resistance

If a sufficient mass existed, or if an insufficient group size existed, odds can be co-opted to the townies almost every time.

I think the real game is way more fun than mafia. Let's hope it works on forums too! big_smile

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....
