Re: What if all you thought about Obesity was wrong?

Subway's foot longs are oft laden with fat. Though if you can go for the turkey breast with no dressing but plenty of raw salad (tomato, carrot, cucumber and maybe onion) it isn't so bad.
However you may find you also have problems with bread - have you ever had allergy tests?

Re: What if all you thought about Obesity was wrong?

He just told us rather directly that he continues to eat what he did when he was supposedly in the army. He just told us rather directly he has portion problems but denies this with bizarre, very obviously nonsensical logic.

If you have to explain that chemical-laden white bread subs filled with lunch meat, cheese, and dressing is not good for a person, you have your work cut out for you if you ever plan on talking about nutrition.

Re: What if all you thought about Obesity was wrong?

Kemp I eat 1/5 the food I used to. Even less on some days

Actually I used to eat a hella lot more.

And subway was a size example. My nutritionist says low to no breads. So I eat subway 2 times a month. I eat hotdogs without buns (hi protien diet) and again chicken breasts and tenders.

Can't use your feet to exercise?

How the [BLAM] are you a truck driver? Let me guess, you never have to unload your own trailer. Just pickup and drop.

There are numerous exercises that you can do without even standing on your feet. Let gravity and your weight be the resistance and kick like a turtle on it's back for 2 hours daily.

Re: What if all you thought about Obesity was wrong?

Seriously Einstein, you need to watch the Fat, sick, and nearly dead documentary... It is about a guy who sounds like you exactly... He has bad feet, cant exercise, spends long hours driving a truck, and he goes on a juice cleanse... buys a juicer and drinks juice only and eats no food whatsoever....you can drink a lot more fruits and veggies than you can eat. He starts losing the weight, is able to get off all the meds he had been taking and is light enough to where he can exercise on his feet.  At least watch it for inspiration if nothing else.

Never rule out the possibility that you are a complete idiot

Re: What if all you thought about Obesity was wrong?

Re: What if all you thought about Obesity was wrong?

The study appears to be true.

http://www.nature.com/ismej/journal/vaop/ncurrent/full/ismej2012153a.html

But it should be noted that the endotoxin-producing Gram-negative bacterium are only one potential causative factor in human obesity. It's not as if, "I'm fat because I have gut microbiota that makes me this way." In the clinical trials, it was changing the test subject's diet that yielded the best results. By the end of 23 weeks, the presence of /Enterobacter/ was too insignificant to detect and the subject had lost just over 110 lbs throughout the course of the trial.

By the way, Einstein. Your diet is the most likely culprit for your weight issues. I would suggest sitting down with a nutritionist if you want to get serious about your health. I sit for extremely long periods in my job as well, but I'm still in as good of shape now at 35 as I was just 10 years ago in my mid-20's. I don't drink nearly as much caffeine as I did then, I cut down my portions significantly relative to my metabolism, began eating at home more (staying away from fast food, TV dinners, etc), and maintain a regular calisthenic routine. I've also quit smoking within the past few years, and drink far less which seems to have helped significantly. In many ways, I feel /better/ now than I did in my 20's.

Caffeine, sodium, acidic drinks (such as orange juice), dairy, starchy, high carb, and protein-rich diets are absolutely horrible for anyone with weight gain issues. As much as I love my meat, vegan dishes are probably much healthier for you than a Subway sandwich. If you need to shed a significant number of pounds fast, you might want to look into liquid diets (or "jucing"), they're rather popular with Hollywood stars.

My wife is a little more obsessed with the health craze than I am, and a little more extreme when it comes to what humans ought to be eating. I usually defer these kinds of conversations to her. I don't tangle with a woman -- especially the mother of my child -- who knows far more about paleoanthropology than I do, and could fit into her High School prom dress within just 3 1/2 weeks postpartum.

Re: What if all you thought about Obesity was wrong?

Einstein,

Everything you listed is unhealthy.

As I pointed out and Acolyte has repeated, the bacterium are not the problem but a symptom of it. Fixing diet eliminated the bacterium as far as they could tell.

You obviously don't take your health seriously. Are you seriously suggesting you can't help your weight when you've never even tried the proven science of nutrition and not eating unhealthy crap in large quantities to the exclusion of everything else?
