I have to believe you meant something else, because that would imply that all guns are semi-automatic.  That's as true as saying all animals are birds.

Anyway, even if PICKLE ARMY did reference a full ban (which he didn't) he still never explicitly stated that the US needs to enact such a ban.  He was simply making a statement about the effectiveness of a partial ban in another country.  I made a similar statement about Japan.  Any inference about a full ban is one you are making on your own.  It's a straw man argument, and we're wasting our time with it.

Sorry, that does not hold weight as a definition of which guns we are talking about.  A full ban means all guns.  If any gun can be classified differently than a semi-automatic, then nobody here except for you was ever talking about a full ban.

I think Killas is hitting this right on.  It's a shame that this person was mentally ill, and it's of not necessarily anybody's fault that he was, but the fact of the matter is that him having easy access to firearms is something that could and should have been avoided.

Normally, I believe in parents taking care of their own children without government "hand holding" but in a scenario like this, lives of others are put at risk.  Nobody would want to be told that "you have a mentally unstable child with a history of violence, so you can't have guns in your house" but refusing to acknowledge that the situation is high risk is irresponsible and inconsiderate of your fellow citizens.

And guard/attack dogs don't count as special animal weapons
