Re: The ability to send a fleet to yourself?

Let's face it, sometimes it would help to be able to send (but not trigger) a fleet on yourself.

Worrrrrrrrrrrrrrd

Re: The ability to send a fleet to yourself?

I agree this is useful.

But I prefer this to be be a 'strat' thing.  I mean, too easy to send fleets to yourself, then let someone build for you, then u take back straight away.  I prefer there's still some level of coordination or forward planning going on to achieve stuff -_-.

Re: The ability to send a fleet to yourself?

Also, presending a retake.  That could be annoying for enemy attackers - kinda defies the purpose of a retake.

Re: The ability to send a fleet to yourself?

When you lose a planet...just sent multiple retake fleets to the same coords smile

Re: The ability to send a fleet to yourself?

^what Sol says

however, there's one situation in which you should be able to trigger -> when you're moving fleet to station in a planet and when they arrive the planet has been lost, you have no option to trigger and try a retake, mostly because you sent your fleet with no transports (which is absurd).

So, it'd be interesting to include transports when you're moving fleet to defend a planet (and bombers aswell), so in case you lose the planet while traveling, you'd be able to trigger the fleet at arrival.

Re: The ability to send a fleet to yourself?

lol I've realised right now, what I proposed fits with Timmyville idea tongue

that's ezactly sending a fleet to yourself

@Torqez, notice that pre-sending a retake you are spliting your main fleet more than you wished, so I dont think this would be abused at all, if any, the standard 1 transport 2 droids wouldnt' be enuf for the time being.

Re: The ability to send a fleet to yourself?

It's not about the fleet though, it's about the time.

It's not really fair if an enemy attacker takes a planet off you (or retakes), and then you can instantly just trigger a retake.  Imo, you should have to travel to that planet again.  That's kinda the dynamic of IC with retakes and sending fleets etc.  I could be wrong, but that's how I picture attacker battles.

Re: The ability to send a fleet to yourself?

I don't really get what you mean Torqez, notice that a banker will not pre-send fleets to his "lasered" planets, that's like a big big waste of iron to build that many bombers just to keep em in the air to use only for a possible raid, and the mess that an active fatass banker has in his fleet/ETA page, most of the times in a war they double/triple send to the same planet just because that page is too loaded and terribly messy.

This would be mostly used by attackers, and like I told, it's a hard decision to split you fleet for such unprobable purposes (and the cash spent to send them). Skilled attackers normally do it by sending several fleets, and most of time those fleets have to be recalled to main (after hovering too much on a planet not attacked at all). Its a strategical decision, to use it only for important spots that you know gonna be bloody battles there, why wait for another 3 or 4 tics??
If both attackers fighting for a strategical spot pre-send several fleets (notice both would have the ability, the owner and the taker) then the battle would be bloody without having to wait anymore, and instead of a battle report you'd have 3 or 4 or 5 in the same tic, its head vs head, you can trigger a figrun if you think he sent fig superiority, etc..

Anyway, a higher step to this idea is the "carriers" idea that we discussed about several times. If carriers were implemented then you wouldnt have to pre-send anything at all, because you'd have a small main fleet hovering the system in question (as attaker or as defender)
