Re: option to blow up planet.

why not?

if i don't want to keep it i have the option to blow them up.

Re: option to blow up planet.

When you say "blow up," do you mean "Remove the infrastructure on the planet" blown up or "I sense a disturbance in the force, as if billions of voices cried out, then suddenly vanished" blown up?

Re: option to blow up planet.

I like the second one

"I was beginning to think you were afraid to fight."
"I'm just naturally lazy, but I will if I have to."

Re: option to blow up planet.

+1
I posted this idea long ago, the ability to destroy owned planets would give an aditional strategy to the game. Some times you cannot defend a planet properly and you dont want a strong enemy takes it and stations hard.
However, this option would go against the IC standards (gain planets), so the cost of doing it should be high.
If memory does not fail me I think I proposed to lose 1 e-ship and 50% of your morale when destroying a planet of your own

[edit] by 50% of your morale i mean 50 morale points, so if you're at 10%morale it'd go down to -40%

[edit2] If you have 0 e-ships then your ability to build them is reduced by 2  (you were allowed to build 5? now you can only build 3 and you'll have to wait some weeks to regain your building capacity again)

Re: option to blow up planet.

or even a op. that you use to blow up your planet

Re: option to blow up planet.

Planets aren't blown by attackers. They're blown by defenders.

BAM!

indeed, and you are a defender when you own the planet, so you have the right to blow it up  smile

Re: option to blow up planet.

The Leader orders it! Our gallant sacrifice will instill heroism in the remaining planets!  Our enemies will shudder to learn the cost of their reckless aggression!

plus it will weed out the noobs, they'll panic and slap that red button all along the line. Do you a favor.

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.
