I completley agree with Gekko. It gives a wrong message and a hypocritical one, to spam like that and like he said to a VERY selected group of people. How bout next time, AT LEAST put that message in english so others MIGHT think its funny too?

It just gave me a feeling that this game is becoming a get together for a selected group of ppl, and it completley ruins the nice nostalgic feeling that I want too have when i log in. I never go to IRC anymore, and I think a farewell message in announcements or in the general thread would have been enough.

I dont see that my farewell message would ever be in HQs, and ive been around longer than MOST ppl around....and definately longer than 99% of the mods wink

Haha, sheer comedy value when thinking about how this small 1 sentence upsets people. If you guys had used the same energy on helping out in the real troubles in the world as in poverty and hunger, the world would've already been a much better place to live in.

Hmm
I agree that putting the messages up was unprofessional and leaving them up there was even more so. Galactic News is meant to be used to announce important things to the players and abusing it will simply lead to it being ignored.
I also disagree with the attitude of "he quit, who cares that he did it." I think everyone cared when KB deleted PP's playing account before quitting. Obviously deleting a playing account and putting up an annoying message on the HQ page are nowhere near equivalent, but I still think that people shouldn't be given immunity for any parting actions. smile

That being said, I love sheep and I think the message would have been funny if it had been deleted 10 minutes after it was put up. Leaving it up for hours when deleting a galactic news entry from the mod interface takes less than a minute reflects worse on the mod team than the message itself.

Edit: Oh, and the responses from the mod team (specifically Primo) in this topic prove Teddy's point.
