Because Speaker of the House John Boehner wanted to force Obama to make a budget deal, it voted to cut the Defense Department by 50% in January, to force Obama to come back to the table and make a different deal.

And because John McCain didn't like cutting taxes forever, he got some Republican pals in the Senate to vote against Bush's tax cuts unless they had a time limit.

So because the GOP is so smart that it keeps those guys around, on Tuesday Barack Obama can lose 49 states, then go play golf until he has to move out in January, and he can raise taxes and cripple the Pentagon just like he always wanted.   Cause the Republicans voted those things into law.

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Fact is, most Republicans are glad to keep Obamacare. More government control, more people bribing them? Yes please!

Your OP is on the mark, though I submit that they're not really that stupid: They just want these things too. The more they collapse our economy, the more they'll use it as justification for more government command and control. And the mob will support them.
