Re: automation is necessary for AI and IC's future

Start tracking how long people are logged in to each round.

Then add up the log time for the winning fam.

Then average the total log times for winning fams.

That will give you an idea of the commitment players need to have to win at this game.

If you're that intelligent & you find it mundane then you would say "sod this I'll go find some challenging game that suits my itellect" I'm sure that's what most intelligent ppl would do that.

I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

I prefer goats!

EDIT: Automated Goats!

Re: automation is necessary for AI and IC's future

Automated Goats would be too mundane and waste too much time.  We should all just give our accounts over to an omniscient goat herder.   Who would automate the automation of all aspect pertaining to goats.  That way we could all spend time strategizing on the most effective way to utilize our flock of automated goats to rule the galaxy.  Which of course wouldn't matter, because they are all automated and don't follow direction.

Re: automation is necessary for AI and IC's future

although goats would be interesting

say 100 goats to a pop point

once agents introduce goats onto your planet you have to cast Dispel Goats or you end up with a barren world full of goats

since tribbles are copyrighted

Re: automation is necessary for AI and IC's future

now there's an idea i can get behind.  you have my vote for Dispel Goats.  it's about time someone did something to stop the tyranny of goats on a free society.

Re: automation is necessary for AI and IC's future

Sorry, I've been playing a different game, one that suits my intellect.  Unfortunately, it makes my cpu run too hot and crashes my computer.  Funny thing, it is a rather simple game, too, with rather dumb AI.  Bad programming.

When there are multiple galas, they should run IC AI on super computer, could be done if people would start listening to me, because lots of people would want to play the game the way I am envisioning it.

Just start by adopting the perspective of not wasting players' time; make it easier for them; and make it more efficient.  Use automation to facilitate the human player: some of the processes we players would rather not do should be automated.  It is simply he right thing to do.  We'd need to allow players choice in adjusting variables and options for each form of automation, though, so the focus remains on the human strategist component.
