Re: reputation rating

There's this evil / good alignment in profile.  But I don't know how it works.  Does it have any bearing on how often you play dishonorably?  Break naps / lie / farm / vulture / etc...

Who determines reputation of players?  Should probably be the other players, no?

Re: reputation rating

This reputation rating system does not indicate anything about a player's tendency to break naps, lie, horde fam bank for his or her own purposes, blow fleets, go inactive, delete, etc...

It isn't a reputation rating at all.

Re: reputation rating

Wow Xeno, your reading comprehension must have taken another tumble of a cliff.

You are the only one calling it a reputation rating.

The changes that have been made to the tag points and forum tags is too stimulate forum and player activity. The evil/good option is merely there for players themselves too pick the one they find most suitable for themselves.

Or is this another one of your troll posts?

@Wendy,

I think he needs more pictures and less text before he can find & understand the answer.

Indeed I would think this from your tag point level, Dirty, Iluvatar, and, as such, I would think to be able to trust you in-game as probably a good leader, potential ally, and someone who would keep their word. I would be able to trust you even if I didn't know you, because I would expect that you had earned your reputation tag by playing HONRORABLY;  I wouldn't expect you to break naps, farm, bully, or break naps like a dirty nap-breakers like Sol Inviticus, who, if you notice from his tag points, you would think I should also be able to trust.

But after encounters with him over last few rounds and with the tag point system the way it is now, I can't trust him, or even you, Iluvatar, or anyone based on their tag point level, which makes me question, again, the whole purpose of good / evil tag points.

Currently, the tag point system does not reflect a player's in-game trustworthiness, and this is a problem.

Re: reputation rating

To fix it, there should be a whole set of equivalent "evil" tag points corresponding to each tag point level.  Moderators should be able to switch a player's tag points from "good" to "evil" alignment.  It's the right thing to do.  It could prevent some fams' rounds from getting ruined because they trusted a player to be their fam's leader when they shouldn't have / or trusted a player to honor nap terms when they shouldn't have.  Many players leave because IC is riddled with untrustworthy, bullying nap-breaking trolls, and they are ruining this game because when players realize that these sorts of players are lurking the galaxies and that their behavior is even supported by some mods and even supported by the way the game is designed, players soon get disillusioned to the fact that IC is a place where nasty, lying, bullies can practice their malevolent tendencies.  "Good" players, therefore, inevitably leave the game, and eventually, all you have left, are players like Sol.  Such people seep into the moderator club, and what you eventually get is a culture bullying and corruption.  The only people who end up playing are naive, new players who don't know what is going on and the nap-breaking bullies like Sol who prey upon them for fun.

For the record, so mods understand what effect this culture of bullying and corruption has on the community, I'll express what happened exactly with Sol:

Basically, had I known Sol was "evil", that he is, essentially, in the untrustworthy, nap-breaking, lying bully camp, I wouldn't have listened to him when we discussed nap terms, and our fam's round wouldn't have been ruined, our players wouldn't have been disillusioned, and the IC player community wouldn't have lost them.

He ruined our fam's entire round because of his lying, dirty nap-breaking behavior:
1.  I honored their demarcation of cores request, and explored away from them to get set up on other fams.
2.  We even warred a fam to get planets so we could pass the requsted planets to Sol's fam.
3.  When I was ready to explore for him, he attacked and broke a couple of my portals and forced us into war with them from long distance, a war that was of course going to fail because he weren't set up on them.

In all of my years playing this game, this was the most ruinous, deceitful, in-game nap-breaking I have ever seen.  It has made me want to play this game a lot less.  I think others in our fam feel the same, but I don't know because neither I nor they log in anymore.  I guess, like me, they've taken to playing something else.

I certainly wouldn't have expected this thoroughly corrupt behavior from someone with such tag point-level.

If we are going to tolerate players like Sol in our community, the least we should do is tag them appropriately so everyone, especially new players, knows what sort of player they are, or else such behavior will continue to disillusion players to the inherent deficiencies in the IC game system and make players like me simply not want to play.

Maybe tag Sol, and players like them like this:

1: Planetary Defender / Planetary Corrupter
3: Planetary Fighter / Planetary Oppressor
6: Planetary Warrior / Planetary Exploiter
10: Planetary Commander / Planetary Devourer
15: Planetary Conqueror / Planetary Fiend
21: Planetary Lord / Planetary Incubus
28: Planetary King / Planetary Minion
36: Planetary Emperor / Planetary Demon
45: Planetary Legend / Planetary Overlord
etc...

Re: reputation rating

Players should be like eBay bidders - allowed to rate other players. It would be a li.k within their profile and anything said stays
