Re: Iran destabilizing

Apparently for the first time in almost 8 decades sanctions are working. The Rial has lost 40% of its value in the last week alone and money changers are everywhere.

Awk-mini-jihad (hehe) has ordered a round up of money changers and this started a major clash with police and it turned into a mini riot.

Things are happening in Iran now that could result in major changes!

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!
Kemp currently not being responded to until he makes CONCISE posts.
Avogardo and Noir ignored by me for life so people know why I do not respond to them. (Informational)

Bomb em anyhow

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

Re: Iran destabilizing

Yes, because we all know if the current regiem falls that a civil peace loving one will surely take its place.

Re: Iran destabilizing

Indonesia has 400 million Muslims and they don't have a terrorist agency killing Americans globally

so if Iran becomes Indonesia 2.0 or even Azerbaijan 2.0, mission accomplished

Re: Iran destabilizing

Does this mean the "bomb Iran now" crowd will begin drafting preliminary apologies?  Not that said apologies need to be issued just yet... but it's at least worth making sure the apology sounds nice if it's needed!  smile

I'm so sorry you won't bomb Iran

Re: Iran destabilizing

Iran is on the brink. The effect of the sanctions might be the final drop. Hunger has been the engine of the Arab spring.

@BeoWolfe
Its a guess. In any case it couldn't get much worse.

Indonesians lure unsuspecting tourists to Bali and bomb them there.

Re: Iran destabilizing

It means that the rulers can no longer buy the loyalty of the winning coalition. A financial crisis is usually a political crisis. It means that members of the winning coalition will start shopping for a different leader, and that individual will likely need to satisfy the West in order to have the money to buy the loyalty of the winning coalition.
