Re: Foods

I am opposed to food, it costs too much, enriches corporations and leads to crime.  Look at every political assassination in the US since 1901 and the gunman had food before he did it

"Hey, leader all around the world don't condone it, even when Guerilla type warfare was far read in these regions (_____), there where still a lot of buisness creating jobs"

What? Wanna try again?

Leaders all around the world don't condone what? Food? Huh? What? Are you serious?

Guerrilla warfare was "far read" in what regions? What does it being "far read" mean? What does it have to do with food? What are you talking about?

There "where still a lot of buisness creating jobs"? What does that mean? Did you mean that there was still a lot of job creation, despite the existence of food? What's the relevance of job creation to this topic? What does guerrilla warfare have to do with food and job creation?

"There wasn't a lot of pay, it destroyed a lot of forest lands, and a lot of people in the surronding area developed early stages that showed the signes of cancer. "

Wasn't a lot of pay for what?

What destroyed a lot of forest lands?

Lots of people get cancer all over the world. Are you suggesting that food caused abnormally high races of cancer? Where? What food? Why is all of this information missing from your post?

"Central & Southern America's people have all seen the horror's from the cause and effect from expansion into untoucthed territories in space. "

We've all seen Alien and even Aliens, mate. It's not just Central and Southern Americans' fear!!

I'm sorry I passed you off as an obvious troll before. But, as we can see, you left out a huge amount of information in your post above. Many of your statements were literally meaningless, having no subjects and frequently referring to pronoun objects which you never named. If you could do us all a favor and make sense, I'd be happy to respond to your legitimate, non-trolling post!

Just label all food 'fuel'.

Nobody minds bio-engineerd bio-ethanol.

Re: Foods

? Yeah we do.

It requires more energy to create than it produces when burned. Using it in place of gasoline produces more CO2 (if you're concerned about that) than just using gasoline. It has absolutely no benefit, by any measure (even those which many people dispute).

Re: Foods

The problem of genetic food is that it grows in free nature and the bees/wind don't care where they carry the pollen. That way genetic modifications can be spread to other plants.

I know, but that's a different problem. I was merely saying that people don't care if their fuel is engineered, then one could sneakily funnel it back in the foodchain. It wasn't a serious post.

I'm personally very much opposed to bio-fuel. One downside is that it drives up the corn prices, which is feed for dairy cows. Nowadays the price for milk is finally going up after a long negative spiral, and prospects were good, people were planning to invest and expand. But then the corn prices rose because people were making (subsidised and quoted) fuel out of it. Never mind the crazy drought at the moment.

"I don't eat genetically modified foods! I just eat grass that was carefully set aside and cherished and nourished through its life cycle, while competing shorter grained grass was destroyed before it could sprout, for hundreds of years, until the genes for a fat seeded grain were dominant and even children could slash, burn, plow and plant the mutant grass all over the world in place of whatever naturally grew there before.  Mmmm, wheatgrass!"

Re: Foods

Sigh...this is stupidy.  EVERYTHING is genetically modified.  Including me.  One day my father choose my mothers genes (or jeans) over other genes running around out there - and poof - Beo was born.  An apple tree from 1950 would be differnt than an apple from 1750 because of genetic mutation and darwinism.  We are different than cavemen because of this same process.  Why is it that if nature screws up somethings dna it is concidered healthy and happy but if man alters it than everyone craps there pants in panic?

P.S.  If any scientists are reading this forum please stop and get to working on a genetically modified tree that bears twinkies as fruit.

Re: Foods

they should do a Blade Runner / Riddick dystopia about aliens smuggling twinkies off Earth like heroin

One line of argument is that genes of genetically modified foods can spread to the wild. Say, a genetically modified plant was augmented with a gene that makes it more resistant to a certain parasite, which in the wild, keeps the plant's numbers low. The modified plant crosses with a wildtype by say, a bee. Now that the wildtype has gained the resistance gene, its numbers are no longer checked by the parasite. This advantage allows it to grow and spread more, possibly allowing it to out compete other plants. This has the potential to disrupt whole ecosystems.

Now I don't know if the above scenario actually happened, but it is argued that it's a potential.
