How does being honest make one an ass? That's not the definition of "ass" in any manner of literal nor slang usage.

There is an alarmingly large portion of the Amerikan population who will _literally_ vote for _anybody_ who promises to give them the most handouts. To deny this wouldn't be compassionate and non-ass-like, it'd be ignorant, stupid, and insulting to one's listeners.

meh, they backed a winner. Atleast when looking at elections.
US elections mainly run on the character of the candidates, not their plans. Both conventions were just about how 'great' and 'family man' both Obama and Romney are.

You can't argue, Obama has a lot more charisma then Romney, and in the end it seems thats what wins you the white house.

Maybe if Romney had run a compain focussed more on his actual plans he could have beaten Obama, but thus far i fail to have seen any real solid plans other then some popular yelling on both sides.
