So I have been thinking about the population of IC.

How about giving exploration ships the ability to send population from a players home planet to the other planets owned by the player.

Ignore portals, they would be military use only.

Exploration ships would potentially carry 1000 population each and travel time would ignore portals for travel time as well. Add a link to the Planet page which would say "Send Colonists."

The population would be immediately deducted from the players home planet and would appear at the destination planet when the exploration ship arrives.

It is not, that is why the e-ship would not be able to use portals.

homeplanets only have 10k pop max so there would be little use for this feature.

I don't think you get the idea...
You are not sending population to your home planet, but from it...

When you explore a planet it will only have 1 population per size of the planet. This would benefit players who want to increase that by sending an exploration ship to the planet. You pay for it, and wait for it but it would be worth it for some players.

This would screw with pop growth as its dependant on current pop on each planet each tick.

Pop bankers would have to micro manage their pop even more sending it from one planet to other all the time, in order to optimize growth. It would make it really complicated.

no it wouldnt jaq, the only result wil be that everyone who is exploring bunch of planets wil build lq on their home.
the idea is nice, but it introduces a factor of wich besides this idea has very little use to the gameplay of imperialconflict. since pop is only used to cash production or in this case to populate new planets.

if the pop would be used for more then just that, it could be something usefull. but since we dont require pop for building/producing/fleet production, this would add nothing but annoyence to the game.
therefor not a great idea.

Population grows at 5% per hour, if you are a population banker this would be a huge benefit. It takes forever when you acquire a new planet to reach even half full... This would just give you the option of placing an extra 1000 population on a planet speeding up your pop growth from the starting line.

indeed, not a good idea to do this. The balance between popbankers and CF bankers would shift completely to pop (which is already much more efficient in top 5 fams, see noirs fam)

now thats purely cuz of the great ideas of the mods to change lq from 500-650 pop each
