dont make it big fams..it will fail so hard again..
5 players in a fam was to much!
and there is way to many sytems and planets last round
here is my idea:
-Hardcore rules apply
-# families
-2 man families
-fully drafts
-Market normal, 48hr delay
-Attacks and hard ops: 2 days delay
-round:untill 1 fam is left ot 5 weeks
-Map: 60x60 over 4 sectors
-Systems: 320
-Starting resources: 10x
-No delete
-No ally
-3 DS limit
this would alow ALOT of strategies and alot of diffrent teams with diffrent setups..pax/attacker - attacker/banker - attacker/quntam etc..
No official naps ofc.. But be alowed to make some sort of diplomatic agreements with other fams is vital to be abel ot survive in hc gal.
You make no sense in your last post Airwing. It's hardcore, last fam standing. You need to kill other fams to be able to survive.
HC should mean no naps or any sort of agreements at all!
So u mean no agreements at all... How r the mods gone check that no gentlemans agreemts are beeing made.. They cant. And im 100% sure agreements of some sort will be made. setting that as a rule wil be to hard to maintain and it will always be grey areas...aslong as players can comunicate there will be diplomatic agreements made legal of illegal 
indeed, people will make agreements with their friends in irc and not post on forums so mods cant see it, especially if its small fam sizes. You just put honourable fams / players at a disadvantage with a rule like that.
If you wanna make it interesting, make it SS.
No aid, no market.
2-4 players per fam.

if you have any honor... you'd folllow the rules of no agreements.

even mods made unofficial naps/agreements, that cant be escapedd.

If full ss should do 1 man fam imo. But im still hoping for 2 man fam drafted.. Should alow alt of Good fams and many fam setups

only thing i'd like to see is even map spots. not perfectly, but just even out the distances, if it could be done. to avoid fams (especially in drafted ones) being in their own half of a sector and then 4 other fams within the same distance.
make and pyramid galexie start example 32 fams 64systemen only 16 family can through to the next level with 64 systems and so on
family who ownes 4 sytems in 1 level and 8 in 2 level may run to next level you will have to fight all round long
till 2 fams left the can fight for the win
why not 3man fam?
Who would complete our team waffles? 
Since the interest to get more than 4 families started up in Orionhas failed; can we just goto a 1 man team no market round?
1 man been done so many times
2 man would put number of fams equal to MW/PW
no market, no aid (full SS) would be great
