Re: A 3rd Party?

Chris clearly seems to think that it is the way.

Yet history shows otherwise.

Ross Perot started a 3rd party. He got enough votes to get matching funds on the next election... his was the first in a while as well (iirc).

He put huge amounts of money into building the backbone of this new party. He. Further worked on it after the election.

His was an actual break with the party, I voted for him.

I don't care that Bush lost... I to felt lkke Chris.

But then the Libertarians came. They who can never succeed saw an organization with matching funds, a flushed up set of coffers, and a naive group of voters who were not prepared for the parlimentary tricks of the libertarians.

The Libertarians won control of the party, they remade it in their image. They ran their candidate celebrity using it and they lost. Not only did they lose but they lost the matching funds as wll.

People had abandoned the new party and gave up on it when he Libertaians started their takeover. Why would I vote to legalize drugs... or to withdraw our troops from everywhere?

The Libertarians remain an albatross upon any third party effort stemming from the Conservative side of things.

While they remain trying parlamentary ideas to foist their ideas upon an unwilling 97% of the nation we can never see an end to liberalism.

If the Libertarians left enmass we could either make a third party or completely coopt the Republican Party back to our ideals. I suspect it would be a successful third party.

But Chris... you know, I know.... they won't let us. They would rather lose every fight than let the Conservatives win. They would rather keep hitting us thinking it helps them, than go and play their own game alone. Without us they have nothing. They would never get past 3% of the vote, they would never get anything done and they hate it. So they stick to us like glue.

Chris it would take a mere 10,000 upset and angry Conservatives like you to win over the various States and the Federal party of the Republican Party.

We would set party policy, we would be the ones talking issues, we would be the ones dictating who gets funds from the party.

That many grass roots people would also mean an organized gotv and candidate assistance set up to beat down the Democrats and RINOs combined.

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!

Baloney.  One good convention will wreck that.  Something along the lines of "This is not the Libertarian Party and we reject its failure".

There's 100 times that many Tea Partiers and what's the result? I don't know where you get that idea.

Re: A 3rd Party?

Ross Perot, actually got a one hell of a tax write off, the following year.  But what a year that was.  Wouldn't mind a third party.  For all intents and purposes the Tea Party can be a third party.  You got the liberals, the conservatives, and now you got the ULTRA conservatives.

I'm thinking that if the Ultra Conservatives such as the Tea Party grew, they could rightly make a law where it was federal mandate to create a Balanced Budget.  A balanced budget, by the people, for the people.  Right now, the federal budget of the united states is a joke.  Actually from state to state most budgets are a joke.  They want to do a lot, with a little.  And they ask the taxpayers to pay for it all.  Well, i'm willing to pay for some of it, but not all of it.  And that's where the problems break down for the majority of people.  We're asked to foot the bill, while a few on the top money makers ask the lawmakers to have them pay less.  So middle america has to pay more for pet projects, while the rich, and corporate america, and wall street should have to pay less.  Because they hold all the money.

Which is true.  Whose holding your 401k?  Whose actually holding the deeds to your home?  Who actually has the paper that says you own so much stock?  Bonds?  Do you have the physical deed to your property your house sits on, or does the government or bank?

You people have no clue to your actual finances and whose holding your money.  smile  I kinda laugh.

Re: A 3rd Party?

A third party is possible. Best example: UK. The Liberal Democrats advanced from a tiny party to a coalition partner of the conservatives today. It just takes time and a long breath.

Re: A 3rd Party?

And by climbing into bed with the Conservatives they've doomed themselves to becoming a non-entity once again.

Re: A 3rd Party?

Conservatives?  Don't exist.  Someone always gets the money.

Re: A 3rd Party?

holy shit where IS Perot?

You know he tried a commando raid to get the hostages out of Iran in 1979?

I think he may be preparing to capture Obama and Romney at the debates yikes
