Re: Official Politics Forum Warning Thread!

We debated on that topic with the mods/fmods yesterday.

There is no bias when it comes to blocks. I myself, have blocked strangers, people I don't care for, and friends alike. It's not always easy, but it must be done.

Start an idea thread. If there is a way to improve the mod selection, or enforcement of rules, or any other issue the community can think of, then start it there. We are open to ideas and change, contrary to popular belief.

i would rewrite rules entirely and spell out punishments.. we tried in think forum but it was shut down.  i would nominate zarf to rewrite all of them.

Re: amendment to rules

i second this amendment.

this wil make it clear for the player what wil happen if they break the rules, and also for future mods so they know what to do when something occurs and also so there can be no discussion about if they were right or wrong.

Re: amendment to rules

Game rule violations and punishment is posted in a sticky in Uni News.

Forum rules violation punishment are not. They start at a warning, then blocks from 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days, 15 days, 30 days, to perm ban.

Re: amendment to rules

It could be good to write or rewrite some rules but you do general rules where you give interpretation to mods to react asap as things are happening or you make a list of forbiden things and each time it's not in the list you have to make a new rule about it?
For forum things you only punish Fwords and things like that or you give interpretations to mods and fmods about disguised insults?

Problem is that you have always the same players that are 1-2% the player pool that are 50% of problems and mods discussions, always at the very very limits of game and forum rules, knowing perfectly the rules and abusing them but not enuf to be punished.
When you have 99% that will say sorry if they are told they did something breaking the rules without trying to find unpunished zone.
The less interpretation u give to mods, the more power u give to ppl that dont give a shit about the community and are using the rules to screw it.

Find me a player that left the game due to a mod, I will find you 1000 players that left the game because of these players

Re: amendment to rules

i left the game because of a mod's actions.  now find me 1,000 that left because people used curse words in forums

Re: amendment to rules

the problem is the mods arent regulated by anyone but themselves.  stefan is gone.  he doesnt care.  all mods should be voted in.  if that was the case then i think you would see less bitching or at least less justified bitching

Re: amendment to rules

Re: amendment to rules

Actually, Genesis would be the last Mod sacked. And he technically did it on his own by going MIA for 3 months.

Re: amendment to rules

First thing's first: If you have a specific issue, please cite the issue with the specific rule as you see it.  If there was a rules problem, it shouldn't be too hard for those complaining about said rules to cite specific instances in which specific rules were abused due to poor wording choice in said rules.  Meanwhile, anyone who was interested in correcting the rules would simply be left sitting in their room, speculating on as many hypothetical situations as possible when empirical examples of the complaints already exist.

Re: amendment to rules

Actually Orbit and Torqez were told to leave. We gave them the decency to allow them to post their resignations. Genesis was removed due to his inactivity. When he comes back, he can ask to be reinstated to the mod team.

Right, so what are we waiting for?  Can we get this going?  Any other feedback?

Re: amendment to rules

if i recall, torqez left before we could tell him to leave, but yes.
