Anyhow the way to end the printing of fake money is to add barcodes, qrcodes, or the likes.

Do Not, I repeat, DO NOT, make it detectable outside of line of sight...

But if you put them on money each major bill with it's own code....

You can first implement scanners at banks by mandate. This will make it possible to detect when someone makes 'spares' of bar codes in a region which in turn makes it so the Secret Service knows where to focus upon.

Soon thereafter I am sure some big box places will self implement to control losses. This will dramatically increase awareness of where the fraud is happening.

Finally smaller stores and retailers will implement leading to wide scale implementation as costs drop and efficiency increases.

Imagine a retailer being told a $50 bill is possibly fake since the same barcode was used 1000 miles away two hours ago.

This would make fraud detection easier but it also has side benefits.

Companies using it would have a harder time faking taxes which would reduce tax fraud.

No more need for the ink markers to try to detect cheap fakes.

Money laundering could be tracked (with a warrant) far easier.

There would have to be allowances for worn bills but this should be minimal.

Imagine ending, for the most part, counterfeiting...
