what about
21 families of 5 players each
families are formed according to the player pool I designed last round, so we avoid multis/inactives/suckers
tri alliances are back, but they are permanent (allies picked cannot be changed) --> 7 tris
max 6 naps allowed (2 tri alliances or 6 single fams, or 1 tri and 3 single, etc, depending on strategy)
max 3 wars allowed, so you can declare on a full tri
you got my vote.... smaller fams and tri's

let me tell u about the player pool I designed:
1st we need 21 leaders, its easy to find out 21 people who wants to lead a fam of 5. I could easily draw the list to make it a competitive round, but we better let the people decide. Any leader should make an anouncement about him and what he's looking for, his style of playing, etc..
2nd every player interested in playing apply to 1 leader' list, only one. This is what I call reversed-drafting
3rd every leader chooses 4 players from his list, so the family is formed. If a list has less than 4 players or its empty (no one applied) then it stays for a second chance. The leftover players in the full lists are sent into a general pool.
4th the players in the general pool take a 2nd chance and apply to an incomplete (or empty) leader list
5th the leaders of incomplete lists can now choose their crew, any leftover player is sent to the general pool.
6th the leftover players in the general pool are now randomly placed in the incomplete fams (if any) or randomly placed in new fams (this will only happen if we have more than 105 players, which is highly improbable)
1. I really doubt that. Finding leaders 2 years ago was hard and with even less players I doubt it got easier.
2. Chosing our leader? How do we know which leader is good or which is bad?
3. Ah and here we go. This wont solve any problems. Power families will be formed
4. In other words the crap fams with empty spots are filled with either newbies or people who did not get picked by their first fam.

lol shadow dont be so negative, you are right but also mistaken, with the reversed-drafting a leader cannot really choose, if you as leader have just 4 n00bs that applied to your list you are forced to take them as your crew.
Also, do you think there will be an important distance from the 'big' organized fams and the 'small' inactive fams??
its 5 people fams, the differences are minimal, and its very important that the pool is formed with players REALLY interested in playing, 105 to be exact (leaders included) and all of them known, no one hiding, everyone with his name and surname so we avoid multis.
think it twice, do you really think people will go inactive in a setup like this?? it will be hard to set the contenders bfore the round starts, we'll have a good competition.
I'd love to try this. I'm a sucker for allies, and I have never had the chance to try tri's.
I would definitely volunteer to lead.

Not being negative I am being realistic
When you force people to do something in this game like a certain fam strat or a race or whatever they are bound to 1. not listen 2. go inactive 3. delete.
If a leader has 4 n00bs then what? He mabye teaches them a bit (if he want that in the first place) or mabye he is done after a week cause he get assraped by a powerhouse fam which is sitting next door.
And yes there is a important distance between big organised fams and small inactive fams cause those small inactive will get farmed by those active fams that has happenend, is happening and will happen.

lol let me do it all then, I'll find 21 leaders to make it competitive.
Also tris dont have to be formed from the very 1st tic, even some 'strong' fam can decide to not ally (notice ally is permanent). Random out alliances could work, but even that way power tris can be formed, we cannot avoid that.
The main purpose of this setup is to have a fun round, and I think I'm adding all the ingredients ![]()

Sshh Orion... You know Render would Pwn you if he ever got a 100% active family. Poor guy only gets 1/2 a fam every round.
How is Render's idea any more difficult than KOTH (fail)?
Wouldn't this be an SD galaxy with HC rules?
Good leader + organized family = increased activity.
Good leader = patient, people person, committed, creative.

tim has been leading some very good fams. he has a way of including everyone..his actor ass has some leadership skills imo.
make 30 planets per system!!!!!! maybe, 50 planets per system!!! :-P
Timmyville yea I was counting him on the leader list of course, but I will not show the list unless I have a real go from the modteam
they will probably open 1 gal with my design and say its their own stuff ![]()

hey PW round is ending today, I can count 113 (less than more) active players in this EOR.
It fits perfectly my design.
If you mods are interested in me doing the setup for the next round pls contact me before I vanish in a looooong restling sleep from IC
