no one is willing to teach noobs its been this problem for a long time.

no one teaches them, they get pwned and they leave.

i still think the mentor system was great, i had 2-3 pupils who were extracted from virgo and placed in my fams and they went on to play years of IC. especially 1 in particular.

now we dont have virgo so we dont get a chance to spot active new players, they are usually killed off within 48hrs in MW. after getting bored and going inactive in small fams with no leadership thus not knowing what the hell to do.

there are no noobs anymore, theres none left, just multis with new accounts.

what u class as noobs arnt infact noobs, there just ppl who u would rather not play with, but instead of saying that, just say i wanted to play with freinds.

banksy, as opposed to many, ive been tutoring players for the last 7-8 years. I'm still willing to do so, hence the post i made to start a teaching galaxy. A hardcore galaxy, however, is not the place to do that. And its not the newbies that bother me most ... though it would take a lot of extra work, if they're active and willing to work for the team, i'll gladly have them. It's the barely-actives who think they can do anything useful in a hardcore galaxy, the divas who dont work in a team coz they're too good for that, and the own-fam-killers that bother me.
And , again, as opposed to many, im not gonna random into this galaxy only to go inactive if i dont like the team, and leave the others out to dry, not my style. But watch how many inactives this galaxy will have for exactly this reason, it's gonna be painful.

edit - @lee : i said that. im honest about it tongue i put it as 'people i can trust' but thats about the same thing, no? smile and i was typing this while you posted, and see, i said exactly the same as you about noobs and people you dont want to play with tongue

it's not that hard to teach new players in mw... why would you need a new galaxy to do it. in my opinion Virgo was an epic fail.

no discussion about virgo being a big fail. BUT, though what you say is true, now turn things around. Dont look at it from your POV, but from the new player's POV, then consider how many of these new players end up in the good families where they actually learn anything, and how many end up in low-ranked fams with no tutor at hand at all, only to get farmed into inactivity. Thats, at best, a 20-80 ratio. Prolly closer to 10-90. This means we lose most of them before they ever get a chance to learn the game. THAT is what the teaching galaxy would be for, to prepare the new players for a) the harsh reality of galaxies like MW (and even PW atm) and b) the demands put on them to do something useful. And Orion is DEFINITELY not the place to teach them about how the game is played.

the thing was Evilrunt even tho Virgo was useless at the time, it A) stopped multis spamming the main galaxys and b) gave mods the abilty to see what players wernt multis and had activity, they would appraoch those players in virgo and ask if they wanna be mentor'd then place them in the said familys that had mentors.

its not getting new players thats been the problem, its keeping them.

by bringing back some kind of interim galaxy they would fix 2 problems with the main galaxys, all the multis and potential new candidates.

but maybe its all a bit too late now, who knows.

Yeh a tutor gal is needed for new players to enter this game......its rare to find sumone who will join and stick around to see a round thru.....coz good fams r full of mates and actives.....landing in a shit fam and u dont get a feel for how good this game can b.....point takin for a new player to join hc gal.....they wuld b screwed and have no clue wat there doin

We require accs to have at least 1 full round of experience under the belt to play a HC gal. I dont believe we should exclude any potential newbs from playing a HC galaxy just because some vets kick up a stink about it tongue

I know if I were to join this game, Id enjoy the challenge of learning a HC galaxy over the regular ones (even if I did get killed off or slowed a family down a little for the first round or two). Need all of you vets to stop being Diva's and embrace change for once tongue

no offense Arbys and i love u guys put up a new hardocre round, (hardcore rounds is the reason why im still playing this game) but this setting is just so way off what the ppl  i have talked about wana play..so im not even gone bother trying this round tongue
