Re: Honor doctrine/council

The problem is not so much honor as the rules being too lax. 35% NW is stupidly low to attack another fam - if it were 70% then it would be better imo. Also a fam wide protection similar to p-mode to prevent massive farming during wars could be instated.

This would sort out 90% of the whining about "honor".

The other 10% is NAP breaks / general douchebaggery which I agree is a problem that something like this could deal with.

First step imo should be to look at the restrictions in game though. There is nothing to stop farming of a fam half your size for half their planets, and in a competitive game if you're playing to win, why would you NOT do this if its in the rules, honor or no honor?

Edit: to prevent fams just below 70% from exploring into your core and portalling - let a fam declare a 30 (for example) system core at BoR (similar to the NAP agreements that was implemented recently) where they can attack anyone.

If honor leads to the enforcement of justice and fairplay, then yes I'm interested.

Re: Honor doctrine/council

I setup #honor last night. Join and we can start Hashing out ideas. Maybe a few can get put into place after discussion. At the moment I'm just idling but I'll be on after work.

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

Yay, we're going to apply a medieval, mostly culturally based concept (usually aimed at keeping a warrior caste loyal to their lord) on an outdated online spacegame. Please, make the discussions public, i NEED to see this tongue

When speaking your mind, it is of utmost importance to keep using it !
