So yesterday I was pulling the Grapevine when my truck started overheating.

So I pulled into one of the designated regions to let her cooldown (and then top off coolant and oil).

I found a Christian Korean tour van was there with its hood up. Ten students and an elder with another who spoke passable English.

Being the man I am I brought over some coolant, made sure it was the coolant that was the problem, used my container, showed the translator the radiator water tank, filled his radiator to full and gave him some basic instructions.

Point is... I did this... not the Government.

There are some who think the Government should take care of all our woes, that we should be reliant upon them for every possible need.

To this extent the Communist City of Los Angeles has a bunch of tow trucks designed to help with gasoline, coolant, tire sealant and even to tow the person at need.

I see it otherwise.

Stop for that lady with a flat, stop for the kids with their hood open. You don't have to do it all the time, but make a standard to help as much or more than the help you get.

If you dontate then donate directly to a cause or group you believe in... not to a clearing house such as United Way.

The Government, any Government, is far less efficient at care, help, or valor than you and these caring organizations.


To which I announce a matching donation contest.

On September 1st I will match, up to $2000 (provided no problems with my employment), dollar for dollar any contributions made to the Boy Scouts, Red Cross, Salvation Army, any Veterans Groups, any Catholic Charity, or any other chatity I have no problems endorsing.

This is my challenge to IC.

P.S. I will ask someone to act as a neutral inbetween verifying donation reciepts. You will email that person a photo or photocopy of your reciept. I will also and if you are willing we will make a website showing the reciepts (personal info can be whited out) and who made the contributions.

If only my donation would not be ued to pay for some manager who hasn't performed all year and still gets giant bonusses, I would gladly donate what little I can miss every month as a student in perhaps one of the most expensive countries to study in (and only getting more expensive).

You can choose any charity or not for profit you want.

I will match if I like the choice and can endorse it.


I will make a small list of ones I won't endorse.
United Way
Any Same Sex groups
Any Islam Groups
Any Environmental groups

That is my personal choice, you can still choose to support them, I will not be supporting those.
