That median is to low. An average NEW truck driver clears $40,000 a year (unless they are really bad).

However the work is HARD.

No sleep schedule (which throws your body into fits), long boredom or hard driving, no homecooked meals (also hard on your body), tight deadlines, more regulations than any other industry, limited places to rest (yes California I am looking at you!), every cop wants to ticket you, space is cramped, excercise is hard to do/get (affects health also), bathrooms can be hard to find at times, you drive in cold and heat (sometimes same day), and other people on the road are crazy.

But I am clearing a lot of cash.

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!

Only $6,000? LOL. I am so going to be a truck driver. Here's why:

1. I have an uber metabolism. I have a diet consisting mostly of Mac/Cheese, and I am still within my 124-127 lb (55.8 kg - 57.6 kg) range.

2. I am accustomed to getting little exercise.

3. I have an irregular sleep schedule anyway.

4. $150,000 is sufficient compensation for me to basically have no life.
