Today is a glorious day. Politics along with most of the garbage (mostly started by flint) is closed. Although I don't condone censorship, I feel like this was a necessary action. Thus, I propose that we keep the politics forum closed. Why does IC need a politics forum anyways? We're an internet fighting game, not a place for trolls/delusional people to vent their misguided views. If enough of us come together and sign this, perhaps we can make a difference and make IC a better place.

disagree, if we dont stimulate discussions on stuff other than the game, then interactions between players will decrease and the game will die even faster.

Universal news is pertinent to the game though unlike politics. There isn't a forum for sports. Would you say we are censoring discussion on that topic as well?

The Politics forum is a complete joke.  I've had more intelligent debates with a brick wall.  If you want to talk politics find a relevant forum elsewhere but save us the trouble of disgustingly partisan and biased rantings.

Bara, there are 2 sets of mods.  'Moderators' manage gameplay while 'Forum Moderators' manage the forums.

I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

And why not just forum ban the heavy offenders?

Would it be possible to ban them from just one of the sub-fora (i.e. politics)?

Easiest way to control the problems that have surfaced, without interfering in daily family function. The system does not differentiate a ban to a specific forum, so of you receive a block it includes all forums, main and family both.

This is funny.
You complain about a forums that you don't have to go to, but because you did, and found something offensive to you, you want it closed!, shut down, scrubbed from the pages of IC History, total mind wipe of the whole horrifying ordeal. 
Yet where are your complaints about some of the offensive family pictures, names, themes.

Everyone can find something offensive posted in this game. You say you do not believe in censorship, yet that is what you want to happen, and are front and center in doing so.

And as Arby3 said, if you close one, you should close  all non-related IC forums!

liberty of speach is inportant, if we want to make a code of honour in this game, we certainly shouldnt disallow these sort of conversations to take place on the forum where it has its own part, if people dont want to read it, then dont.

a forum is a forum, a chat is a chat, most of the threads opened in that forum are more apropiated for chat convos, get all these politics activists joint together in a chat room and trashtalk all they want to, many of us wont rarely go to a chat like that so they cannot feel so important.

the problem comes when people uses this forums as if they were writing a book or an article in the news just to feed their ego and feel important, (ae Einstein writing about his personal life and how rich has he become etc..)

yet put them altogether in a chatroom and you'll see how they shutup after 5 minutes of every fool writing his personal foolness and not reading what the others write  (like any modern parlament).

I post what I believe in (mostly, some are traps, tests, experiments) and I study the issues.

If you disagree... you have a voice here, you can type your views.

This is my problem with the politics forum (more specifically flint). As you can see here, he uses sweeping generalizations to imply that liberals are bad guys and conservatives are good guys. If I wish to have an academic, intellectual discussion about politics, I'll do it with one of my professors or peers. Perhaps my biggest issue with Flint is his use of unreputable sources. Many of the sources, if you go over his threads are sponsored by republican think tanks. He makes ludicrous claims about different topics such as the environment, marijuana etc. without solid reputable empirical evidence to back him up. In fact, even when irrefutable evidence is presented against his case, as many have done, he just goes and makes a similiar thread in a week or two. The politics forum is widely inbred due to the hostility of some of its members. Therefore, anyone with different ideas are branded as 'communist, socialist, liberal, environmentalist etc.' as if those were negative connations.
