Turned out a wire was not fully plugged in and accounted for the issue. When fixed the measurements came back at C only.

As I remember when they reported the faster than light travel they said it was probably wrong and the likely reason was faulty measurement, which was right...

This was the mechanic telling his mechanic friend that the car went faster than it should but it was probably something wrong with his testing equipment and he was going to re-test, and then all non-mechanics listening in making shit up from there....
