Re: New trend of IC

This is what happens when your fam is so stacked Noir. No one has the amount of activity (especially active attackers) to even compete with you guys this round. Anytime you guys go to war with another fam it's already obvious that you guys will win, and if the top fams war each other it will only put your family further ahead.

Also I don't know what you're so sad about, you're a banker ffs tongue

Obsessed is a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated.

Re: New trend of IC

Im not sad for my fam this round, we win thats np, but im a little sad about the game, because these big wars cancellation style used to be the most fun that was in IC, and it used to be a chance for smallers fams to get a break, cause the big fams were finally duking it out, jumping market prices and exploding planets etc. Now we see families like 95 and 97 paying 400+ planets (an insane amount) just to get out of a real war, so they can get back to farming smaller fams faster.

Re: New trend of IC

Losing with style was always fun.

I remember trying to fight off Sink and Moulandrax one round when I had 1mil fighters and 5mil droids, and Sink had 2mil fights and Moul had 8mil droids tongue

I actually managed to clear a fair bit of Sink, and all the other attackers before moul finally got around to getting all my portals. Was fun back and forth though smile

I also remember one round when Hydro cancelled on my family and i then uhm, maybe outjumped them by 25mil networth tongue....

oops.

Re: New trend of IC

The biggest issue is not enough active attackers. I swear fams have like one or two attackers tops these days. If you have a fam full of bankers and not active attackers, you know you're gonna get beat in a war so it makes more sense in the long-game to just pay and not get messed up.

Wars are fun, but wars that you know you don't stand a chance in hell are not.

Obsessed is a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated.

Re: New trend of IC

WHat you say was mostly braggin zidi ;P ut your point is valid.  95 and 97 are still gonna lose the round, they wont win and they both know it. So i dunno why they would settle for a top 5 finish with being humuliated like they are atm rather than giving it all and go down with honor. They would still finish top 5-7

Re: New trend of IC

It's because the all time legendary attacker, the god of IC has not been around to give all the lesser n00b attackers the desire to FIGHT. I mean after all who wants to see 2 girlie guys fight when all they know how to do is slap and call names when you could have someone like Junior Dos Santos (WS) fight and knock everyone out in the 1st day or 2 haha tongue

BUT do not despair WS the great will return next round rested, and ready to hammer into submission all the wanna be attackers. You will either FIGHT or DIE no early submissions will be accepted. I will have had a good 6-8 months off with more Mexican sex than an old man could hardly handle so there will be no distractions, just the whole galaxy being WS'd and for you n00bs that means Pwn'd.

So carry on and be ready to be schooled in the art of WAR tongue

Ok i'll complete that, after sink and moul finally beat me down, they destroyed my 750 planet banker to 300 planets tongue

Sound better? tongue

Also, i'm pretty sure i volunteered to attack as well next round lol yikes Wanna join me and WS noir? tongue

My overall impression is that if wars were less destructive and savings less vital, people could keep warring without being crushed by the "builders"

The last time i played properly i'm pretty sure every game up after the ephase. Theres not even an ephase anymore =/

Oh well.

cancellation wars are fun, and you don't need the most savings to win. Just gotta work it right.

Yes can you believe it, its going to me WS, Zidi, Magni, wi, as the attackers next round.

Wait what do I see? Is that the mini legend Hydro, Teddy, Smaug, and a host of other attackers deciding to take the round off in FEAR?????

Re: New trend of IC

Who said we were farming smaller fams?  We have fought everyone of value once this round.  We haven't farmed anyone this round, so don't talk shit about stuff you don't know.  We expected to have 4 active attackers this round, but that did not go according to plan.  Because of this problem, our plan this round was to get a core, defend it, and have fun.  We've done all of these things.  Yes, we paid planets to 88 so that we wouldn't tear each other apart.  I think 88 can beat you at EOR if they can get into your eco range.  For that reason, we decided to give them some planets because we want to see 93/88 II.

I've had the most fun on IC in 2 years with this fam - that beats whatever put down you can lay down.  If that means that we didn't take a lot of planets, so be it.  But we protected our area and fought off every major family this round - we have survived with half our fam inactive for part of the round.  The only battles that we have lost this round was to you (after planet pingpong and no war) and 88 (who had us outsaved 3:1 in iron after an ill-timed jump that I approved).  We also battled back from 10th in infra after week 1 to 2nd in infra now and higher nw per planet than your fam, I might add.  I will take this round over trainwrecking the galaxy and it not being fun ANY week of the year.  But at least our NAP means that this last month isn't useless, that someone can potentially still give you a decent fight.  That fam is 88 smile

I'm sorry that you don't have a walkover this last month, but 88 will give you a better war at EOR because of it.

Re: New trend of IC

Well Noir, the last time I fought your fam rank 1v2 in a supposedly epic war we were under the same circumstances with no attacker available to start the war.  That war ended with my fam losing like 1500 planets in 48 hours.  I jumped from my phone in that war to attempt to solo 6 attackers and all 20 or so attacks I was able to make in the first 4-5 hours were pointless haha..... Granted that was a 2v1 because my allies pussed out and didn't even jump.

This time you guys caught us off guard thinking war would not be for at least another week so we had just spent like 80% of savings trying to catch up to your infra.  You having grossly outsaved us(at least 7x our saves when canceled), coupled with your superior infra and us not having an attacker available, led to the nap this round.  It was quite a disappointing decision, but considering our attackers wouldn't even get the chance to have some fun and challenge the top fam(which would have been the only reason to war considering the savings), it saved our infra player's morale from being destroyed

Re: New trend of IC

yea, a while back we were complaining that there wasnt many good cancellation wars left in IC and now that our fam is striving to fight as many cancellation wars as possible, a new trend of paying planets for a war is starting. totally lame. yes saves mean something but to lose 450 planets for a nap? if you actually fought, the damage might be lesser=X

at least have the fun in warring. isnt this game about winning and enjoying yourself? whats the point in paying for a nap (450 planets!) and den losing the round without having a good war?

Paying planets for a nap>getting raped in a war you have no chance in.

Obsessed is a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated.

Re: New trend of IC

HF, I will just say that there were extra circumstances in our case that outweighed the benefits of having a nice hard-fought war with 88.  As we still have plans this round, I can reveal these circumstances toward the end of the round.  Not everything is black and white - our situation is complex and the decision was tough.  Wanting to see a great EOR war between 93/88 was only part of the decision for us.

I will also say that there are other ways to have fun in this game.  Sometimes constant small-ball fights (and only a few wars) can be fun too.  My fam has proven that this round - we've been teaching some noobs in our fam (Zarf), enjoying IRC convos with each other, etc.  For me this round, it's not about amassing massive amounts of planets.  If I'm having fun, who cares how we achieve this fun?  We've done nothing dishonorable this round and we've fought every notable family.  Big wars are not always big fun.  You can have fun in different ways.

Re: New trend of IC

I'd rather fight than nap. Our problem (95) was i was the only attacker available to war ( I was going to cancel my fishing plans to war). Me alone against Teddy, HydoP & crew would have been a slaughter. I did ask my fam/leader to try and secure a 48hr nap for a eor war.

Paying  450 planets was a bit to much for my liking, I would have like the opportunity to get them back.

97's problem is similar.  Except that instead of only have one attacker available at a particular time, we've only had one attacker all round:p

88 canceled on us the tick after we used savings to jump a banker, we have 1 attacker.... I'm confused as to what would have been fun, or smart, about fighting that battle hmm

Re: New trend of IC

Ah, for heaven's sake I'll set this all straight.

Oxygen and I discussed our future for the end of the round. What we had accomplished, what we hoped to finish with, and how we needed to get our goals done. The war between 97 and 88 would have been a blast. Had so many shares and I have this whole week off on vacation. Unfortunately, they had the great timing of cancelling right after we jumped our 2nd popper, so they outsaved us by 3:1. Not that I was scared of a fight, or that I didn't think we could handle a war like that, we just looked at the grand scheme of things.

Each round, every fam wants to win. Each round within a few weeks from the end, it becomes apparent who will actually have a chance to win. Our fam (97) doesn't have that chance. We've fought defensively all round and did some good infrawhoring and controlled the space around us. Even though it might not sound like FUN to you, it's been quite fun for us. With our lineup, we don't have an aggressive style and to do a ton of work to keep our family happy.

Oh, and by the way, if you really think I would have paid 88 450 planets for a nap, then you're out of your mind. If that were the case, then this war would be in full swing right now. Congrats to falling for the trolls once again. tongue

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

Re: New trend of IC

Why in the world would I be afraid of any attacker in IC? I am at the peak of my game with a solid infra to back it up. That is crazy talk you are running with WS.

And to make things even funnier...you are my student in this game. I taught you how to play! Why would I ever fear my student? You still have a lot to learn!

Re: New trend of IC

I agree with Noir, oxy your actually helping them to get into a better position to war the top family? Since your fam had no way to get into the lead if you warred or not warred(and paid 400 planets) that means you completley messed up by giving them the chance to war the nr 1 fam and letting your fam come in possibly third or worse?(who cares bout the third?)

it makes no sense, and having a mod in your fam who actually stands by this decision and than farm other "targets" is so sad. lol. Im not even blaming 88, why should they NOT accept such a generous gift of 400 planets? You always pay huge amounts of planets oxy tongue

Re: New trend of IC

isnt that an illegal alliance?

like talking about NOT warring because of a later possible war with 93.. wouldnt there have to have been a discussion about that in order to convince 97 to NAP 88 for that reason?

oxygen here as much admits that discussion in these posts?

Sorry is my definition of illegal alliance a bit skewed?
