Fact of the matter is Pop banking is better than Cf/to. Its definitely more involved, and some bankers don't have the time nor knowledge to do it. I do think that last round with you (08) having 4 poppers has helped shape the way the game is going. You showed that if its done correctly (which having 4 is definitely no easy task so kudos to you guys) can be very successful.

Been comparing some with cf bankers in mid round and EOR and often cf.s are like 35-40gc/cf and lq.s are as best around 185-190gc/ lq.
And a small comment to my post. I am not comparing one cf to one lq, i compare what a banker make in midround and EOR so its not so much about the amount of buildings cause then i bet the popper still wins since his ob is much lower.
Comapreing like this is of course with all things included, like to.s research and racebonus but those things are equal to cf-banker as popbanker, both had the opportunity to tweak their income. And since i am a banker with high to-ratio (to gain research faster) the compare isnt correct of ccourse, just a point out about the difference.
There is alot of tweaking that can be done, we should btw have two seperate debates, one about cf vs pop and one about how to pop..
my assertion is that unless you are planning on getting opped once a week, popping is better (IF IT IS DONE PROPERLY) what i feel many people are doing wrong is that they think they have to go popper right from start. In my family this round i was almost 100 planets before i had any pop, and i would even say that even if you are 300 planets, you can still turn popper, its just that much better eor...
I've pop banked from the start before.
Bottom line is its far more efficient to load up on LQ's initially then jump TO's higher on the higher OB, so thats where starting pop struggles.
Startıng pop ıs basıcly just too slow, ıf ur ın a decent famıly you can afford havıng a popper beıng carrıed early and transıtıonıng fast, but my experience ıs that ıts better to be a CFer and just load up on early planets to support quıck popgrowth and then stop at 50 or 100% OB wıth CFs and transıtıon from there
