To allow for more agressive early play, and less infrawhoring etc.
Revamp the cost of portals, make it cost less first and foremost, but also possibly make it calculate from amount of nw or simply a fixed cost.
Point being that in the period where people are 50-150% OBed, portals are ridicoulusly expensive

people shouldnt keep exploring and exploring, they should stock explos and start ob-ing earlyer. this way portals wil be affordable aswell.
we might aswell up the income from CF/LQ's to get the same result. we did the same to the resource planets annyway.
besides noir, making portals only cost a base price, your one of the fwew people in this game to benifit from it the most, youl be able to portal up your fam early and have top eco going. wich is why portal costs go up compaired to the planet ammount. if we change that less fortunate fams have a harder job fighting people like you ;p
if they wait to long youl outgrow them and their [doomed] annyway.
The problem is that atm you cant go agressive in that period of time, cause anyone can turn around and raid you. so families that just nap the most people have a huge advantage
@gen me and noirs fam allready got raided with plenty lasers present, wich doesnt matter annything if a fam prepares for it properly.
thats tru noir, but i think making portals cheaper throughout the round wont be the best solution. lets brain storm!. am getting mates over in a bit so il continue this post tomorrows.
I wouldn't expect you to understand this Gen, its fairly advanced
The problem is simply put that the tradeoff between eco and portals is too big, meaning that any fam who fights will be at too big of a disadvantage, thus encouraging everyone just to nap 
Your wizzards have started to create a portal to home with just bare mind power! however such an effort requires alot of meditation and spell casting, your portal wil be finnished in ** hours.
do it automaticly after taking controle of a planet either by exploration or attacks? then it all comes down to activity, and keeping cores clean, and not about who makes the most cash (so small active fams stil can fight back the big ones) but it wil get us some action going sooner in the round with no need for naps cuz a fams eco wont be hurt by portalling costs. (cuz there r none)
fams wil be forced to get resourcers going sooner to afford bombers to take out the lasers if their present, but the lasers are expensive aswell, u cant over do them at bor.
together with the upped resource planets (%) it could balance out?
Would need to consider upping the time to finnish a portal to 72 hours? with 99% con itl be 37 ticks. good enuf for lesser active fams stil to take measures, big fams can choose to mass lasers or station, but will be vunlerable for DU aswell.
