Re: Bush Tax Cuts!

I found this great post on Hotair

http://hotair.com/archives/2012/06/03/obama-wants-to-avoid-the-sequester/

You LIE!

The second part of the Bush Tax Cuts were signed in 2003. Revenues went UP in FY 2004, UP again in FY 2005, UP again in FY 2006, UP again in FY 2007.

The Bush Tax Cuts INCREASED revenues, not decreased them. Look at the numbers yourself:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/omb/budget/fy2013/assets/hist01z1.xls

Table 1.1

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!
Kemp currently not being responded to until he makes CONCISE posts.
Avogardo and Noir ignored by me for life so people know why I do not respond to them. (Informational)

Re: Bush Tax Cuts!

Normal routine bullshit:
My socialist overlords said that raising taxes is always good, because government does so much good for people! And it's efficient! High taxes are the only way to pay for all of the awesome stuff government does!

Response to counter-points which absolutely prove them wrong:
Numbers which show that this is harmful and counterproductive? Well uh it's about MORALITY!? The rich DESERVE to have their stuff stolen! I'm jealous, therefore let's hurt everyone in order to bring them down. Who cares if it hurts me too, I want to please my baser urges! I'm an ape!

Then quickly back to the normal routine with as little attention as possible given to the fact that it's a bunch of ignorant lies.

Re: Bush Tax Cuts!

Flint. The economy was not good in 2007. It was built on sub-prime fake money. Not that Bush's tax cuts were responsible for this - but Bush didn't run current account surpluses in the 'boom' years. He, like Brown-Blair, defied economic logic. The 2008 crash and subsequent instability all stems from these two mistakes (repeated globally): phoney money and budget deficits.

VKemp. You espouse Randian theory but where's this absolute proof? Morality? Ayn Rand escaped soviet Russia and fell for America's capitalism. What's her explanation for the Great Depression? Though agreed it's fair the hard-working, the talented etc should be rewarded; is it moral to not help someone who's starving? Personally I always liked the Mongol Empire's redistribution system. Very fair. Not sure how it would be applied to modern western democracies...

Re: Bush Tax Cuts!

lol @ your ignorant account of the crisis. lol @ your straw-man attacks on capitalism.

Share with us your ignorance. We want to hear the whining of children and base policy on it.

Re: Bush Tax Cuts!

Well I think your hero Rand said you should pay people and charge people accordingly to market rates. I doubt she'd approve of many practises in the 1990s and 2000s.

Plus I like capitalism. I don't think its flawed, but many people are. For unregulated capitalism to work it relies on virtuous capitalists. Unfortunately we live in a world of unscrupulous sharks, so unfortunately we need regulation. Doubly unfortunately only government can really regulate and it generally proves itself less than fully effective.

And I don't think its unfair to state that the same two economic mistakes are to blame for US sub prime, UK bank runs, Greek and  Spanish problems.... Iceland or Ireland's woes... even it is simplification and misses some of the problem.

Re: Bush Tax Cuts!

Nobody is arguing in favor of the corruption of the past. Straw man defeated! Good job!

Nobody is arguing for capitalism without [reasonable] laws and law enforcement. Straw man defeated! Good job!

Did you even mention government's role in creating the sub-prime crisis? Please share with us your expert opinion. I want to learn more!
