France is all for it, but other important members are firmly against like Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands. Its highly unclear if it will ever become a reality or not.

The question for this forum is, is it a good thing or not?

"Euro" - Bonds are not allowed in the treaties. If France wants Euro Bonds, the Euro zone would need a new treaty. That would take up to 10 years. The French will back down after the elections.

The Spanish need 180-250 billion Euro. They could sell some land to get the money, e. g. the isle of Mallorca to Germany. wink
