a merge would make more competition. harder to farm fams when those fams are stronger.

it wont be any good unless there are enough players, and there arent enough ppl who have the time to play both, especially not well.

130 people have signed, thats more than enough to show that this is a good idea to at least try.  You won't get many more than that as over half of the people in favour with either not know of the petition or can't be bothered to find out about it!

Big gal = more fams = more competition at all ranks = top fams won't farm one fam to death, they're able to spread their "farming" on other fams.  Doesn't kill farming, but goes a long way to minimising the effects.

imo it shud just be called milky way. after the merger then galaxy will be much more like the milky way of old, plus it was the first gal so i dont feel it should ever be on hiatus.

I don't know, but its a cool sounding name in my opinion.
Starcraft: Arcturus Mengsk-Terran Dominion Dictator.
Mass Effect: The Arcturus Fleet, name of the Human fleet.

It's been used for things other than the name of a star as you can see, and i'm rather fond of that name, so I think we should use it. It's just a suggestion though, im sure that there are other names we can use as well, this is just a possibility. If enough people get into the whole name choosing thing we could start a thread for people to vote on which name is better suited for this merger.
