The Obama administration decided that swimming pools must conform to the American Disabilities Act.

They are requiring devices, which cost $10,000 to be installed in any public swimming pool or the owners of the pool will face $100,000 in fines and be open to lawsuits by trial lawyers.

This covers hotels/motels, public pools, school pools, and any other 'available to the public' ool.

In otherwords up to 99% of them will be shut down the day it is enforced.



Now it was supposed to take effect soon... in this summer heat... but surprisingly the Justice Department decided to extend the deadline until after the election.


If this is not evidence of how wrongful, hurtful Obama and his regulation super empire is... then you need to dive into an empty pool!

ADA commands "reasonable accommodation to the disabled"

I would sue all the way to the Supreme Court arguing that any accommodation the disabled have gone without at every swimming pool in the US for 21 years after the ADA passed, is not "reasonable".

This is the harvest of the ADA, another one of Ted Kennedy's unworkable stupid liberal programs to better America:  Order employers to provided unspecified benefits to an undefined group of people.  Awesome.

I would sue for the lack of disabled in government but then I realized the Democrats all have mental disorders... so clearly it is ADA compliant.... neutral

the deaf and blind are definitely disabled

yet the Democrat Party makes no effort  to provide reasonable accomodation to disabled FEC members who can't read the DNC's mandatory disclosures

This violation is repeated at the state and county level

I hope Romney's DOJ sues their ass off and demands tenfold damages for violating not only ADA but RICO -- such orchestration lawlessness rises to the level of organized crime

This isn't a normal legislative activity.  I'd understand your argument if we were talking about a normal bill going through both houses of Congress and the President (unrelated fact: "I'm just a bill" is suddenly stuck in my head).  However, this particular action is simply a regulation change within the Justice Department.  These are instances in which the departments themselves have been given discretion, in this case about 20 years prior, to establish regulations within their sphere of governance, unless countermanded by the Executive or Legislative branches.

So yes... when it's internal department agency regulations, it's an "Obama administration" decision since the executive branch guides those departments, not Congress.
