Re: Rehashing how Libertarianism cost lives

It is after World War I (aka the Great War back then) and isolationists and pacifists control the majority of nations.

In the East Japan is engaged in a war against China and no one wants to get involved.

In the West Hitler is making bold comments that alarm the common person.

Not wanting a war the Libertarian minded leader of Britian (ok Pacifist minded) gives up a nation and gains "Peace".

Of course said peace does not last.

In the USA an attitude of 'leave us alone and we leave you alone' prevails.

Of course we saw how that went.

Same for most of the other 'neutral' countries (excepting one nation which played for both sides interests).

Those deaths are on Libertarians heads... if the United States had clearly said 'heck no' to Germany at the start and helped asap then millions more would be alive.

Libertarians do not understand evil exists, evil seeks to grow, left unchallenged it WILL grow, and eventually it will make war with you and yours. Help end wars, vote Libertarians down every chance you can get!

Re: Rehashing how Libertarianism cost lives

You're making vague generalizations on topics Libertarians do not necessarily agree on. You can't argue against Libertarian ideals because you clearly have no idea what they are.

You're asserting that conservatives/liberals are some sort of alternatives which aren't a bunch of corrupt corporate-whores who war-monger on command, which they are.

You're ignoring the people killed and otherwise oppressed by your war-monger corporate-whore masters, as if they do not incur costs to be weighed against those you accuse libertarianism of here.

I would love to respond more thoughtfully, but you're just trolling. You've made it explicitly clear that you will absolutely not respond to posts made on this topic.

Re: Rehashing how Libertarianism cost lives

Flint, you do know that those pacifists and isolationists were in the majority conservative?

1921-33 the US was ruled by republican presidents. After 1933 the republicans were the main political power that demanded still for isolation while Hitler had overrun France and bombed Britain, while Japanese forces conquered China.

In Britain the Tories reigned from 1922-24, 1924 (after a short Lib-Lab Gov.)-1929, 1931-35 (National Gov.) and 1935-1945.

Re: Rehashing how Libertarianism cost lives

That's odd... I seem to remember Wilson and FDR were at the helm.

Damn they must have edited history books again...

They all got on board to meddle in Iran for oil for their powerful buddies with big pockets.

Good thing that hasn't become an excuse for anything involving loss of life! I'm starting to come around, Einstein. You're just so knowledgeable and honest. You've considered all implications of all actions and explained everything! You're not ignoring huge gaping holes in your claims.

I made an argument against Ron Paul, I submitted evidence as needed, and I did not leave any punches out.

You made accusations, treated them as universak truisms without evidence, and expect all to follow you to the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

Flint, visit your history book(s) again. Presidents between 1921 and 1933 were Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover.

Re: Rehashing how Libertarianism cost lives

For the record, the attempt to associate either party with pacifism in this particular thread is probably a strawman argument.

1: Whether it was Republicans or Democrats that were the instigators of pacifism during that period, it doesn't change the question of whether pacifism was a good or bad idea.
2: Even if it somehow matters for the merits of pacifism, you're both talking about the parties as they were literally 90 years ago.  Considering that about 99.99% of the people who had any sort of influence, including voting, in the 1920s elections are probably long gone, there's not really a common link between their policies then and their policies now.

Now, I understand the period as an empirical example of pacifism in action, don't get me wrong there.  But this whole debate of which party was the pacifist party is pretty much useless.

I cherry picked? LOL.

It's okay to admit you made a mistake flint, just gives you an opportunity to be right.
