There need's to be a buff for families that are smaller.

Let's face it IC is on the decline.  Less and less ACTIVE player's every round.  The families are unfair every round.  Those who constantly draft the same player's every round.  Fill their family up and do well the whole round.  The smaller families don't have this same ability. 

Now the option of getting rid of the draft and bring it back to the good old day's of no draft could be an option to stop this.  But that stops Stefan's funding for the game.  More people will complain they dont get to have that "advantage" anymore.

The other option is to do it is scale it like PVP in World of Warcraft.  If allies have 20 people and horde only has seven.  Horde gets a buff to even the playing field. 

So same thing in IC.  A family that only has four active players bottom ranked.  A family that has 12 active players and is ranked in the top five.  If the top ranked family attacks the bottom ranked family as it has been in the past.  It's going to be the same outcome.  The top ranked families is going to win, more resources, more players, more time across the bored.

This is the strategy of IC of today.

Buff the smaller families.  Which changes as families grow and expand.  Likewise if they fall and get taken out.

If you actually want to put the strategy back into the game.  Have a 24th ranked family being able to take out the number one ranked family.  They have the similiar advantages.  So it really does come down to how you play.  And not how many people you have.

Will it be abused.  I'm sure with the type of player's out there today.  I'm sure there will be.  Which mean's this needs to be tested and closely monitored.

Personally i like your idea but hey there are lots of good ideas.. In my eyes we should start at the begin tho and get a stable IC again .. first things first so to speak ..

A good and fast(er) server .  A good and reliable Galaxy for new players . A attractive lay out . Better publicity , etc. etc.

And yeah a fair game for smaller fams is included indeed.

The problem here is you take away the incentive for trying to get ahead of other fans in eco... If a bottom ranked fam is able to fight effectively vs top fam.. why would you ever try n go for first no benefit...
My suggestion was just to add more morale to the less players so they have equal morale.. that doesn't disadvantage the large fams but adds a little buff as you call it to the littler fams.. so they can retake better/ attack more...

It wil just become part of tactic Humidity.
top fams r top now cuz they got the eco, often wars r won due to their eco, not their skill.
you mean dick if u got kick ass eco and no attackers able to kick butt....

if u change the rules, the same top fams and their planners wil stil remain top fams. theil simply wil have to work harder to remain top.
being nr one in eco in a gal, makes people turn inactive. cuz its boring to keep boosting eco wink

giving a fam more morale so they can attack more, only result in them failing more instaid of winning a war.
be realistic, theres been several good ideas on how to make this game more competative, but if the bigshots r to worried they might lose their easy ride to the top, well then ye... this never wil happen.

Humidity this round I'm in 24th ranked family, angel, ugaria, and myself are all super active.  We just got raped by a family twice our size because they have more players to do it.  Why are we being punished because we have less players.  We should have an equal shot to take out a family with 12 players.  They have 12 moderately active players. 

I agree with paininside.  They'll just have to change their strat. 

This just levels the playing field with smaller families.  If the number one and number two family still go at it.  Of course eco is a factor.  So there is still the rush for eco.  They will have not be affected by the buff.

I also agree humidity with your morale idea.  Id be willing to give that a shot. It might be just the way to put this scaling in effect.

I just think that anything that disadvantages any set of family be it small or big is a silly idea..

What we currently have in game now is many different sets of rules that severely limit small PLAYER families, not big families.
Construction costs due to empire size,
8 expos per day
morale limit per player
explo costs due to amount of planets
etc etc...

all these severely hurt families with only a few active players trying to compete.
The more active players you have the more chance you have to win simply because of the way this game is set up..

Back in the golden days when there was like 3k of us playing these rules were fine because every fam was full and there was hundreds of families per gal with like 10-15 players active per fam.. This meant it was very even playing field all around..

Now there is maybe 2-3 active families, 3-4 semi active, and the rest only have a couple of active players.. Its very hard to play if you are not in one of those active families and compete.

This is why they need to change the rules so it doesnt hurt less player families.
