Re: Strategy in Orion Nebula?

So they bringing it back, ON, and also the 10 ES 10x resources start.

Anyone have any interesting points of view here?

Personally i love the quick paced start in a HC round, the 4 days no attacks could see a crazy trend with peple exploring for spread in the systems of other families to get some early action.

Still waiting to see map, with amount and distance of systems to know more...

Re: Strategy in Orion Nebula?

We'll probably see a few different strategies early on I guess. We will see some fams attempt to explore into other fam's cores and portal up before the end of the 4 day mark, in order to get offensive. With 3 DS's per fam in play though, it could be very hard to do significant damage if the defending fam play it right. Not only that, but the trend of early aggression in hardcore galaxies is generally that you will only put your own fam further behind overall, even if you do manage to take someone out!

I think a lot of fams will likely opt to initially turtle up in 3 DS systems with infra, possibly delaying their expos for spread by a day or 2. As you said, it will definitely depend a lot on map size and spacing, it will be interesting to see the different strategies used for sure!

I'm going to put a DS in a fams HS.

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....
