Wait, Game of Thrones is based on books???
and the books are based on letters to Penthouse Forum!
this thread has 4 pages
so my RolePlayingGamer friends got the 1st season dvd and we were watching it last night
he could only take 2 episodes cause it was freaking them out. Sissies
I even ruined it for them saying it was like Battlestar Galactica if Apollo had been getting it on with Athena, but they straight out didn't believe me. Then they had a very bad 5 mins at the end of ep 1 watching incest and a child murder.
They are total wusses and in a zombie fight they will be consumed as decoys while I reload. On a positive note we will find a way for our friend Ronald to be slapped by an etiquette dwarf in the next game he plays.
"You will prostrate yourself to the master and offer your services"
"What? Hell no" SLAP "The hell??" SLAP "Stop that!" SLAP
Oh we'll slap him irl as we do that, cause he didnt' see the episodes. He'd probably faint if we made him look.
Good job making a series around beheading and executing children and wolf mauling!
who wouldn't [build a spaceship and fill it with cookies baked by] their sister if she was a hot blonde?
yeah I am sorry, not my sister. Now if she was a hot asian... I might be tempted
that scene with renly and margaery was pretty funny ![]()
and yoren is a badass
I would certainly like to fill a hot blonde's cargo hold with my cookies
The episode was pretty filler imo. And the guy who plays Theon annoys me.
i wouldn't say it was filler..
*introduced brienne
*Theon chooses a side (the letter scene was great imo)
*Tyrion being a badass (the myrcella to dorne/pyke/vale scene was great)
pretty sad that they skipped the "HOT PIE!" part though ![]()
Never liked Theon in the books anyway, so it kinda works for me. Overall though, I must admit the differences with the books bother me more than I thought they would. Hopefully I can get used to some of the characters I had pictured differently in my head. But damn things are laid on thick in the series, no subtlety here ![]()
The episode was nice though.
I can barely remember the books so beyond the general plot line/certain big events it's all pretty much new to me.
Do you guys think that the seasons that deal with Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons will be split up similarly as they are in the books or will they do one season of the first half of each book and then another season with the second halves?
I think it would make the most sense to do them chronologically rather than the order they are read in... people who havent read the books would have a hell of a time keeping everything straight. it may end up being more than 2 seasons for those 2 books as well in order to give GRRM time to finish 6 and 7 lol
lol, I wouldn't mind a season for each half. I'd rather that then have them squeeze all of the book into 1 season and cut out a bunch of stuff. As long as it doesn't make the season slow with filler episodes.
I'd rather see it compressed into a montage like the baptism scene from The Godfather
A bit late to the GOT party, have just caught up with the last 2 episodes! I hate having to wait for the next ![]()
- Loved the Tyrion scenes!
- King Renly's wife is awesome!
- Poor Yaron ![]()
I do wonder what's going to happen with Arya now though. Will they take her back to King's Landing or kill them all now that they think the bull helmet guy is dead?
Having not read the books, I am finding the introduction of millions of new characters and all the different claims to the throne a bit confusing. Had to google a lot of the names mentioned in this thread because I couldn't remember who they were and then was afraid I'd come across spoilers by doing so!
With each group getting like 5-10mins per episode, I wonder whether they're missing quite a bit out? Didn't see Dany, Joffrey or Robb Stark at all in the latest episode for instance.

you can set how many books you've read, and how many episodes you've watched, and it will filter out all the spoilers.
about arya, ser lorch (leader of the guys that killed yoren and one of the lannister's bannermen) mentioned in the last episode that they are taking the prisoners to harrenhall. not sure how they will handle this as this is not quite how it happens in the books, but this is also where tywin was taking refuge after Robb captured jaime at the battle of the whispering wood
Thanks for that!
Spent a good couple of hours earlier reading up on character backgrounds and stuff lol....
spank that ass!!
i just hope "Lost House of Cammarese" sounds exactly like "Greensleeves"
im curious what everyone who hasn't read the books thought of the ending? ![]()
