Topic: US air strike on Pakistani soldiers

Pakistan's Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani has condemned an air strike by Afghanistan-based US forces that Islamabad says killed 11 of its troops.

The incident took place inside Pakistan, near the border with Afghanistan.

The US military confirmed it had used artillery and air strikes after coming under fire from "anti-Afghan" forces.

From the safety of Pakistan, military forces raided into Afghanistan.
After engaging with Afghan forces, the US supporting its ally, hit the retreating forces with Artillery and Air Strikes.
The US Military killed 11 of them.

I, as an American, give a shit less who or where they came from.

We don't all sit on the sideline. Most of the European countries are present in Afghanistan (even Belgium).

Perhaps they realise that we try a different approach than sending tons of people into another war. Europe has been fighting it's way out of trouble for the last 2000 years, and frankly, it didn't change much. The European union did bring permanent solutions, so why shouldn't we try other things then bombing the living hell out of people.

Troops in Darfor ??  No, no.  Not a token force like in Afghansitan.

In Afghanistan, you have armed security.......that any dolt can do w/about 4 weeks of training.

Did you perhaps read a different article? 8 Taleban were killed. The other 11 people the US airstrike killed were your allies.


As usual you're talking beside the issue here. It's not about *how much* you can bomb the shit out of anyone, it's about how you bomb the shit out of the wrong people. I'd like to discuss the Rwanda mission, but not here, since it's got ZERO to do with this topic.


To clarify; how many incidents / cockups / widows / scandals will it take before the US gets that the smeared out token victories do not weigh up against the use of brute military force - plus its material and human cost - to force a NON-sustainable peace?
