Re: Oh by the way... Greenland might melt away... wow

But not because of anything man has done.

Remarkably a little noted issues has been occurring thanks to our Molten Core.

You see the "Magnetic" North Pole has actually been shifting rather well over the history of the planet. In fact in recent history it has been moving VERY FAST towards Moscow.

those commie bastards are jamming our homing pigeons! yikes

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

Yell, just aim for magnetic north...should make ballistic missiles easier to make wink *starts sticking compasses in all missiles*

I give your invention the worst score imaginable. An A minus MINUS!

I like where your head's at on this one!

"The shifting pole may also become a grave concern for migratory wildlife, such as birds, turtles and other sea creatures that use Earth's magnetic field to navigate over great distances. It's unclear if these animals are capable of recalibrating their navigational instincts to compensate for the changes."

Has the magnetic pole always been stationary until now? Since the magnetic pole has swapped in the past, and these species are still here now, it would suggest that some form of compensation occured tongue

I am however confused as to what this has to do with Greenland...unless this is some form of joke that I am not getting...

The pole was moving at less than a foot or such? The link I posted says how much it used to go.

"And, as a bonus, Tahiti could be a great place to see the Northern Lights. In such a time, Larry Newitt's job would be different. Instead of shivering in Resolute Bay, he could enjoy the warm South Pacific, hopping from island to island, hunting for magnetic poles while auroras danced overhead.

Sometimes, maybe, a little change can be a good thing."

I would totally wanna be a scientist then tongue
