3-14-2012. With the start of PW and MW we are now putting some changes and features online!
1. Instant pmode
=> as the name suggest; pmode will now trigger instantly when the requirements have been met. The requirements to be brought into pmode remain the same but you don't have to wait until the tick before the galactic protection comes to your help. We hope this change will prevent the individual player to be hit too hard that he or she loses interest.
2. NAP signing change
=> To prevent abuse all nap propositions are withdrawn if any attacks are made after the nap was proposed.
3. Check allies > Check relations
=> The check allies operation is now changed and also renamed to check relations. Instead of telling you the allies it will tell you all the relations your target family has. Difficulty has been slightly increased and you can only cast this on the leader of the family.
4. Surrender option disabled after recent attacks
=> From now on you can't delete if you have done any attacks or ops in the last 24 hours. You can still be killed off.
5. Soldiers and Droids changed statistics
=> Due to multiple comments about the weak attacking statistics of the soldier we have decided to change the statistics after SD ends. Statisticswill be:
Droid: 6/7 Soldier 5/6
6. Planetary rules system
=> This is a new system where leaders can agree to create a rule for specific systems or specific planets. These rules will allow attacks on the systems/planets in question even if you are napped. This way core intrusions or planet payments can still be done even if you are already napped.
Detailed explanation:
On the relations page you will now find a new link called: Diplomatic planet agreements.
Here you will find a list with families you have relations with (lets call this the: "PRF list") and you can click on them to see which rules that may be for that family (lets call this the: "PRF details") On those pages you will find three things:
1. Your proposals to other families
2. Requests from other families to your family
3. Active agreements.
Making an agreement:
1. You choose a system or 1 single planet
1a. a system is chosen by typing in the system coordinates but leaving the planet field empty or placing a '*'
1b. a single planet is chosen by typing in the system coordinates and filling in the specific planet number in the planet field.
2. you select which way the agreement works. Options are:
2a. Only the proposing family can attack on the coordinates specified in the agreement.
2b. Only the receiving family can attack on the coordinates specified in the agreement.
2c. Both families can attack in that system.
3. You choose which family you want to make this agreement with.
3a. if you are on the PRF details page you won't have to fill in a family as it will choose the family on the PRF details page.
Only leaders can propose, accept, decline and cancel agreements. Cancelling agreements can't be done until 48h have passed after the agreement was signed by both parties.

1. Instant pmode -> it is ok and welcome but it will not work porperly unless the pmoded empire gets a msg warning him about it. In the middle of a tic a player can decide to attack/retake, he should have the knowledge of his actual pmode status before doing anything. This status could be also notified in family news after the last attack (like its showed right now when your DS is destroyed).

It should be
=> To prevent abuse all nap props are withdrawable while the other part does not sign back.
It saves a lot of coding this way (simple flags algoritm) and it makes more sense.
3. Check allies op -> the change is good, to be slightly hard to get it is ok too, but it only works on leader??? that's kinda absurd, an aditional silly rule to make the game more complicated (and more extra coding wasted).
4. Surrender disabled -> It looks good. However, like Jaguar said, it should be on empire not on account wise.
And is this applied to all the gals or SD only?? Because in standard gals it would be interesting that the leader receives a warning saying "empire X in the family has tried to delete with planets" <---(doeeeet!!) ![]()
5. Soldiers and droids changed statix ---> as posted in the other thread my opinion is THIS HAS NO SENSE AT ALL. And you should have implemented it thru player polls. Also it leaves nowhere while the soldier bug is not yet fixed.

NO, the mod team has become a "MY WILL" team, when in most of cases they have no idea how the game is played.
The ONLY real problem wiht soldiers was attacking soldier vs soldier IT WAS BUGGED. If you havent still fix that BUG then no matter how you change the ratios, it will be the same, nope, it will be WORST, because now droids are better defenders now. So before this change I wasn't able to break thru a banker portal attacking with soldiers because sold vs sold was BUGGED, but I was able to break thru attackers' portals and beat the droids.
Right now I cannot break thru any of them, so my 'attacking' soldiers are completely SHIT."""""
I read the future --> Revalons are no longer the banking race, I see a lot of custom bankers picking droids as defense. Then some big brained boy will want to change Revalons for better, adding ops or changing stats or whatever, no matter, the goal is to mess the game more and more and more....
6. Planets rule trade system or whatever ---> this is the perfect example of a developer wasting time and efforts just to make the game more and more complicated and complicate both his and our lifes. I am tired of posting in ideas about using the ROGUE tag for this purposes and you SHOULDNT have to add all the wall of code you wrote now. Also this rule will be fully abused for IAs and low stuff. Please read my posts at ideas, dont wanna repeat it here for the 10th time. Use the damn rogue tag!
7. In case you want to add a new fambank system, please, before wasting more of your time and efforts on coding, please read my idea also about using the DS fund as a vault

SUMMARY-> I appreciate all this changes made because of the initiative pulled on them, but please HEAR the community before using you time and knowledge on complicated stuff. I'm glad to see we have good and active developers finally, but I honestly recommend do not make the game more complicated than it is already. Remember it is a text-based game, new players joining will leave when tehy realise they have to read the bible to have a small idea of waht the game is about! ![]()

its not realy extra coding u just change the terms of the query u use where they select the players agends on their player_id <-key
just as much work as the other ops. with exception of the soft ops those r all done without calcs. annyway
how often did we use check alies opp? barely... now the op received far more use. and wil be used more often aswell.
it adds an extra layer of planning to the game. now we can see who whats and where its happening and use/abuse those facts.
or we can be the gentle men and stop vulturing ![]()
now people can play smart and have an agends heave player being leader to make it harder. this is a advantidge smaller fams could use. nap is allready signed but they think your stil in war. etc etc. think of the possibilitys it gives them, top fams atleast have to put in some effort wasting resources on more fleet/upkeep to get that op done. wich is not always worth it.

yes it is a good change, but I still dont see the point on setting the leader as only target, anyway, 2 simple questions about it:
1) if you dont know the only allowed target is the leader, then you op another player and you fail, my question is: do you get a hint warning you "the leader is the only target for this stuff", and does it cost you an op failing this way??
2) can you op on napped leaders??
We do listen to the community and most of these changes are result of that. Besides these changes were not that much work or much lines of code. None of your points make sense.

That pretty much means that you dont agree with how your country is run as well? Getting people who represent the country and make decisions for them? Kinda like what Think Tank is for IC for ideas and improvement on the game...

agree though, make things transparant (i stil like to see the thinktank no need to post but then we can all see the reasoning for decisions made. ) or when u implement things put it down in short why we made that change, something everyone wants (no taxes, doesnt mean its better for the community, crappy streets, no police etc we couldnt afford it) is not the reason why we should implement things. think tank means something to me proper reasoning, i wouldnt mind seeing that

I respond that way because you yell and rant before thinking. First of all you pretend to know whats best way to program without any knowledge of the game code or my skills or how much time I needed to program this, secondly you claim we don't listen to the community because, what? We didn't implement all the things you made up?
Ideas forum -> Think tank -> mods -> developers. Its a proper structure to work out ideas and that's how we connect with the community.
if you want answers to your rants:
1. It does give a message before attacking. It always has been that way.
2. 2 lines of code.
3. If we didn't restrict it to leader, you could have just used the op on a smaller camaar with no agents.
4. It is empire based.
5. You posted that it had no sense, maybe read what others post?
6. Not much work and gives more possibilities but doesn't complicate things at all. Leaders are experienced players who can use this only to their advantage.

exactly, its called democracy, we elect the people to represent our countries, then later when they are fails we have no excuse and get screwed,... now tell me, who did elect the IC gobernment??

as for the other changes I like them I think it adds a lot of new ways to play the game

iv seen a lot of good changes in a short amount of time for game play and it makes me happy to see IC is growing and evolving ![]()

anyway what I mean is something like new pictures of stars, planets, buildings, ships ..ext
something with more detail so we can get rid of the 16bit look the game has now

Yea Valt, a facelift is something we are working on, but it is not that easy or quickly to accomplish as these changes I did now ;p
I like most the changes except the droids vs solds. Surely that now makes them obsolete seeing as you get soldiers on your race yet you have to take droid as a special which is the difference between 20% bonus on a custom.
There needs to be difference in the 2

I've been a proponent of this since they were originally changed! Suddenly bankers can be useful in retakes again. I don't know if I would have put droid defense back up quite so high (it is kinda fun to see attackers balance attack vs defense), but other than that, it's another LOVE. With this change, you can now train noobie bankers to attack! This was impossible with 2 attack PLUS -30% race bonus. Bankers can even retake properly again!

just a question...you mods/devs have been touching buttons you didnt have to??
The last round I fought a war against a fam they didnt declare war back, and the 25% nw rule wasnt applied because they didnt declare. I was not allowed to attack below 35% nw
This round I tried to use that advantage against a bigger fam declaring on us, but this time it didnt work, actually I based all my strat on that rule and we are losing the war now, I have seen them attacking below 35% nw and I was like "WTF?", of course none of us attacked them, it is only one sided war of a big fam attacking a small fam and getting the 25% nw advantage, result -> they raped us hard!
please explain how the hell this works now, I cannot play this game when rules are changed unnoticed from one round to another.
