Topic: For those players who only read Uni News

Hopefully the mods will let this stay here because I am unsure of how many players actually check the other forums this could be good for the community as a whole.

If you are an active player that has played for a while or is new to the game and wants to learn. Then the following concerns you and you should consider it.

With the depth in players right now at an all time low and continuing to decrease (hopefully that will change) it is getting harder and harder to find people to fill a family. Especially draft slots.

I would propose that if you actually are active, even if you are not well known (or a complete noob) that you should consider putting your name into the Drafting forum and offering your services.

I know me personally, I would much rather draft a highly active (or even medium active) over a low active/inactive veteran...the problem is that when I can not find someone to draft I end up getting stuck with those inactive vets who are willing to put their name in the forum.

There are many of us Veterans that still play this game that are more than willing to take a chance on someone who may not be as well known if their activity proves to be true. And would love to take the time to teach you how to play.

So please, just consider putting up a post in the Drafting forum so that we can atleast weigh the options of drafting you.

Note:

1. You dont have to be VIP to get drafted (a VIP can draft you)
2. This is not me stating that you WILL get drafted, but it never hurts and it could take you from a bottom feeder fam to a medium to top tier fam.

Just a thought.

Great post dude...problem being that possibly half the reason player numbers r droppin a little is coz these uber active r all joining together so the noobies who r jus startin out mite not relize the importance of activity in the game and start thinkin the game sucks coz they got stuck in a low fam thats not full and the fam stops caring......more good active players in a spread of fams culd revive new (and possibly old) player interest.i dont know but u c alot of low fams with like 5 - 10 new guys startin out a qaurter way into round and there guna struggle coz top fams r filled with the best and most active players.....

I agree partially with you banksy and disagree partially.

Atleast 50% of the fams (could be more) that are in the bottom ranks is not due to them being filled with new players. It is due to them being either inactive players (from the start) or players that started actively, got beat up, and went inactive.

And while you are correct in that a lot of noob players do end up in those small fams I believe mods are combatting that well with reshuffling MW every other round. This helps out a lot.

Fact is, I would take a 1st round player if he/she showed the activity that would help me win. But nobody wants to play a game with inactive people that dont know how to play the game and you dont know them. So for those noobs who are active....i STRONGLY encourage them to post in the drafting forum. Someone will be willing to take a chance on them I can almost guarantee it.

Also, maybe the mods would consider altering up the screen that first pops up when you join a galaxy at each start of round and put in large words that a player should put themselves into the drafting forum if they want to play competitively.

Its just a thought, but I for one, coule really use some active players and as of right now there are none in the drafting thread I would draft....you see my problem?

That is foolish of you to think so. The biggest asset of Milky Way is making it possible to play with your friends. Also there is more than enuf compition in Milky Way compared to Pinwheel where there is no drafting. Full drafted families would be an issue, but this is not going to help even a tiny bit
