Topic: Oil and the Democrat way

Roughly 18 years ago Clinton was asked to Open ANWAR and Offshore Oil drilling.

He said it would take a decade or so to actually affect prices, and that they would settle out in time anyways so no he would not.

Bush Jr. tried to push for ANWAR and Offshore Oil and Democrats in the Senate stopped it everytime.

They said it would take to long to affect prices, and the prices would settle themselves out in time anyways. (Later Bush got a small amount of offshore oil drilling going and prices plummetted just for him approving the drilling)

Obama was asked to drill or build a pipeline.

He now says prices naturally rise in summer, they will even out eventually and no new drilling is needed.

So if 18+ years ago we had drilled...

So is Obama dooming our children by not allowing drilling?

Btw San Fransisco is seeing $6 a gallon right now. The nation is supposed to easily pass $5 a gallon in summer. This affects the poor the most of course.

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!
Kemp currently not being responded to until he makes CONCISE posts.
Avogardo and Noir ignored by me for life so people know why I do not respond to them. (Informational)

It was $1.47 a gallon in 2000.  It was between $2.50 a gallon and $3.50 a gallon 4 years ago.

So whatever you pay in Norway, figure it doubled in 4 years and was about quadruple over a decade.  Oh, and imagine that your national economy relied on shipping things 1000 miles by rail to get to a seaport.  How'd you feel about your economy then?

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

Re: Oil and the Democrat way

I'd feel ripped off that my bacon burger didn't have pickles.  Not that our railways would hold a train up to 1,000 miles....just for a pickle.  Hope it's kosher.

I think we're beyond sabre rattling, or busted oil pipes, or even rebel armies.

Right now, every country in the world has drilled and is pumping oil.  Some countries built more oil pump stations than others.  So those countries garner more attention from the media.  And the media makes links to Oil problems to oil prices.  And so do the speculators in wall street and other national monetary institutions.  Who use the flake of even a RUMOR as an excuse to pump up the prices of crude oil, even though the price being sold to us...has not changed.

Yep, talked to my old buddy in the Pentagon, and turns out we're paying the same price for oil from overseas as we were paying back in 2007.   Before the economy tanked.

So...if the price of oil went back down to pre- Great Recession....why is Wall Street and the other financial institutions stating that the actual buying price was higher?

The good thing about insider trading, is when your not really trading anything, except information.  The military needs gas just as much as everyone else, just seems rather odd, that the military is paying $2.50 per gallon NOW, while the rest of the country is paying $4.00+....

You tend to spot crap, when you ask the right questions.

=^o.o^= When I'm cute I can be cute.  And when I'm mean, I can be very very mean.  I'm a cat.  Expect me to be fickle.

Key, consider learning ANYthing about what you're talking about before posting. It will avoid foot-in-mouth syndrome. Seeing as you have no idea how people who buy in huge bulk buy, you probably shouldn't share your ignorance with us. We don't care what you're pretending and what you figure based upon pretend Key land.

I love how Obama is talking about reducing energy prices by funding renewable energy research with government money [debt]. It's a insult and joke, which apparently most of the American people deserve to be the butt of. Nobody who isn't on hallucinogens thinks renewables will be competitive within anything short of decades. Wasting inefficient government funding on research which the market will undoubtedly do better at is irresponsible, reprehensible, and immoral.

1 gallon = 3,78541178 liter
3.7x1.8=6.66 Euro
6.66 EUR = 8.73182 USD

Netherlands based on a liter price of 1.80 per liter. (and that price is rising every month almost)

The market may develop something in a distant future, but not in the US without funding. Perhaps in Europe, for sure in China and the Chinese will gain huge profits from it when India starts to develop its economy. Investing today will create jobs in the future. The US dept is that high, a few billions more or less won't change something wink

Re: Oil and the Democrat way

Firewing, what the hell are you talking about?

Nobody is going to make any money off of renewables until they're cheap enough to compete with petro. When such technology is developed, everyone will copy the best available. Spending 500 billion on government funded research isn't going to result in "huge profits" for anyone.

Developing nations are using coal and oil for everything they can. The only "investments" China and other third world nations are making into renewables are to develop inefficient products they can dupe us into purchasing. They aren't making them for themselves.
