What determines the outcome of a battle?

Do you win the planet when having the fleet with the higher defence value after battle?
Or with the higher attack value?

I thinks its pure number of units after the battle if im not mistaken...
The attack values only matter to determine losses if im not mistaken...

Interesting. Would make sense.
If I recall correctly, once it was the defence value but that wouldn't make sense with the "new" values for droids and soldiers.

Thanks for the info.
Has anybody tested it?

used to be whoever has the most ground left wins.

now days is who ever end up with more ground points wins. (attack points vs defense points)

So in saying this Droids Vs Solds is whoever has the most ground left since they have the same att vs def points?

Droids vs Droids is 7 vs 4 so you send just over half of the fleet your attacking

Solds vs Droids is 2 vs 4 so you send a little bit over double fleet your attacking

Solds vs Solds is 2 vs 7 so you need to send roughly 4 times the fleet your attacking

That would be about right? (after losses from the air battle)

Re: What determines the outcome of a battle?

yeah about right + attack bonus etc will play a part

Re: What determines the outcome of a battle?

although the ground loss formula is still a bit iffy. eg sold vs anything. but this is how its meant to work.

Re: What determines the outcome of a battle?

soldiers vs soldiers is really f/ed up, it was some round ago and I think it's not still fixed.

No matter the amount of soldiers you send vs the amount of defending soldiers, the defending side ALWAYS win

You can send 200k soldiers vs 50k ---> you will lose 60k vs his 700 soldiers

I dare you to check it!!! big_smile

Whow, I have become quite rusty. How again was attack bonus, no fear, military research handled? Cumulative or multiplicative?

Example:
Attack Bonus: 30%
Military research: 20%
No Fear: 10%
Is it cumulative: attack bonus altogether: 30% + 20% + 10% = 60%

Or multiplicative: attack bonus altogether: 1.30 * 1.20 * 1.10 = 1.716 or 71.6%

And the attack bonus is properly working now? Military research still applied to defence and offence?

Well, it wasn't really a guide, just some number crunching helpful for advanced players. Mmh, I guess one could call you, Noir, a somehow advanced player *grin* so, no wonder you found some usage for it. But nevertheless those numbers are old stuff and completly useless now. Sigh, what a pity.
